2020 has been an extremely rough year for everyone. With everything unfortunate that has happened this year, what better way to finish it off than by watching a really feel-good anime series to lift some spirits.

Anime can either be extremely heartwarming or totally harsh like a Ghibli movie. Sometimes, they’re even both. But since 2020 proven itself to be a tough year, binge-watching an anime that gives people the warm and fuzzy feelings inside would be the perfect way to ring in the new year.

10 Fruits Basket

Fruits Basket was an anime and manga in the early 2000s that was recently remade to better follow the manga series. It was a fan favorite that consisted of the curse based on the Lunar zodiac plaguing a family and one girl’s efforts to break it.

The remake of the anime not only has beautiful “cottagecore” art, but it is incredibly wholesome. The main character seems to brighten up everyone’s lives of those she encounters, and though she has problems of her own, she always strives to make the people around her happy. This anime is super cute and worth the watch, especially considering the final season is set to release in the 2021 spring season for anime.

9 Haikyuu!!

While any sports anime would be perfect to uplift some spirits and give fans those feel-good feelings, Haikyuu!! Is definitely a top pick. This volleyball themed sports anime is all about overcoming the odds and aspiring to be the best.

The anime is super fun to watch and will suck audiences in as they become attached to the Karasuno team, rooting for their victories at each step. The anime will have fans hoping to see their favorites go the distance and became the volleyball player they wish to be. The fighting and team spirit that encompasses this series is sure to make any anime fan feel totally happy they made the choice to watch.

8 Mob Psycho 100

While Mob Psycho 100 is actually a supernatural anime about espers, this show is a perfect feel-good anime. For starters, it is mainly a comedy series that follows the main characters in super silly situations regarding ghosts and supernatural occurrences.

The feelings in this anime, however, are amazing and show how humans think and interact. It proves that no one should be based on how they look, as unlikely characters are constantly forming deep ties with one another.

7 Interviews With Monster Girls

There are a few monster girl series out there right now, but none are quite as beneficial as Interviews With Monster Girls. In this anime, monster girls are an up and coming race across the world. There aren’t too many of them still, but enough where it is not bizarre or strange. In one high school, there is a vampire, dullahan, and a snow queen that were being interviewed along with their succubus teacher by one of the science teachers at the school.

The girls were learning to adjust to regular human life with their monster abilities while also explaining how they live to their teacher. This anime is super wholesome and cute that will leave you wanting a second season.

6 How Heavy Are The Dumbbells You Lift?

While this is technically a sports anime as well due to the fact that the main characters most focus on working out, there’s more to the story. This anime will not only inspire viewers to work out too (which is perfect for all of the New Year’s resolutions), it also is super funny and has a deep focus on finding unlikely friends through hobbies.

The bulk of the characters didn’t meet one another until they decided to work out together, just knew of each other’s existence. They often comment in the series that if they didn’t pursue this new hobby, they wouldn’t likely be friends due to never getting the opportunity to speak to one another. The show is super cute and each episode features a different workout that viewers can try at home. Also, Machio is probably one of the greatest anime characters of the last decade.

5 K-On!

K-On! Is all about friends coming together to start a band. This fun slice-of-life/comedy anime is super cute and funny with an absolutely adorable art style that everyone is sure to love. Each of the main girls play a different instrument as they learn to play with one another and save their music club from ending at school. The anime is so fun that a bunch of different media were made from it after, including a movie and a rhythm game featuring the girls and their music.

4 A Place Further Than The Universe

This anime is super cute and filled with adventure. Four high school girls come together in order to join an expedition to Antarctica to search for one of the girl’s mother who had gone missing three years prior. The art style is super cute, much like K-On! With each girl having their own unique personality.

The four girls experience so much adventure together as they learn to break out of their shells and seek the unknown while still in their youth. The friendship between these characters develops into a super close bond that will make every viewer feel good.

3 The Wallflower

This adorable romantic comedy anime is sure to make anyone feel warm the moment it begins. After a strange goth girl ends up living in a huge house with five gorgeous boys known as the princes of her high school, she undergoes a mental and emotional makeover in order to become more comfortable being herself.

Originally, she didn’t take care of herself at all, and her family became increasingly worried about her, so they hired the boys by allowing them to stay in their home, under the guidelines that they must make her beautiful. The definition of beautiful gets toyed with a bunch throughout the anime, as one of the boys begins to fall for her, for exactly who she is. This anime is super cute and extremely comical.

2 Food Wars

While it may seem odd since it is all about cooking, Food Wars, is actually a sports anime. This comedy series has all the makings that sports anime usually has, including the lovable fighting spirit and passion to get better and succeed at what the characters love to do.

This anime series is also a huge comedy like My Hero Academia, as each of the food tasting sequences is utterly ridiculous if not a little uncomfortable to watch. This sports anime may even encourage its viewers to get in the kitchen and make something new.

1 The Devil Is A Part-Timer
