10 Best RuPaul’s Drag Race Season Casts

 Over the last 13 years, RuPaul’s Drag Race has shown a variety of different drag queens with different aesthetics and different personalities, and each queen and each cast provides something unique to the series. Some casts have had more variety and provided more entertainment than others, whether from having better chemistry and friendship together or having more drama between them.

What makes a good cast is debatable, but what can be agreed upon is which seasons were amazing simply because of the queens who made the series the best that it could be.

10 Season 5

US season 5 is one of the better earlier seasons as a whole, however, the cast is what made it what it is. It saw some of the most iconic Drag Race queens who are still mentioned today, such as Alyssa Edwards, Alaska, and Detox. Jinkx Monsoon was the winner of this season, which was a tough battle considering how fierce the cast was.

There were many reasons that season 5’s cast was one of the best, the drama between Alyssa Edwards and Coco Montrese was obvious from the very first episode and kept viewers on the edge of their seats. Rolaskatox was also a key part of this season, the clique formed between Roxxxy Andrews, Alaska and Detox. Roxxxy’s dislike and digging towards Jinkx also entertained.

9 Season 6

US Season 6 is a fan favorite season, and the queens are the main reason why. This season saw comedy queen Bianca Del Rio as the winner, one of the most popular queens to come from the franchise.

The season saw a variety of queens, comedy queens such as BenDeLaCreme and Darienne Lake or look queens such as Trinity K Bonet and April Carrion. This season also had a killer rusical, made so incredible due to the season having 2 strong singers in Adore Delano and Courtney Act. Bianca, Adore and Courtney made an incredible top 3. The variety of personalities made this an amazing cast.

8 Season 9

US Season 9 had an incredibly strong cast, featuring more well-known iconic queens such as Shea Coulee and Valentina. Even the queen who was eliminated first, Jaymes Mansfield, is memorable and has created an amazing career for themself. But artsy queen Sasha Velour won this season.

This installment has a lot of creative queens aside from the winner, like Nina Bo’Nina Brown and Alexis Michelle, which makes every runway exciting. The finale was the first to consist of lip sync battles, and Sasha certainly left a mark on it with her rose petal wig reveal, which is still talked about today. Sasha, Shea, Trinity, and Peppermint were an amazing top 4 to begin this tradition with. The fight and tension between Aja and Valentina is also still quotable.

7 Season 10

US Season 10 was another season with a fabulous cast. Fashion queen Aquaria won this season in the final lip sync battle, beating two other amazing performers, Kameron Micheals and Eureka. The first queen eliminated was Vanessa Vanjie Mateo, whose exit left such an impact that it became one of the most memorable moments in the series.

This entry saw tension between Aquaria and Miz Cracker from the first episode and also saw Eureka return after having to leave due to an injury in the previous competition. Kameron appeared in the bottom 2 various times throughout season 10 and delivered highly entertaining performances every single time, which emphasized the sheer talent within this cast.

6 All Stars Season 2

All Stars 2 saw 10 queens from the franchise return to fight for the crown. This is another fan favorite season that saw the return of some of the fans’ favorite queens, such as Alaska and Katya. The hilarious Alaska rose to the occasion and won the season.

This cast was one of the best, as it was filled with some of the most entertaining competitors ever. Rolaskatox were reunited and competed together again, once again appearing in the top 4 with a “lovable weirdo”, this time being Katya. All Stars sees queens eliminate each other, making friendships even more interesting.

5 All Stars Season 3

All Stars 3 also contained many fan favorites such as Shangela and Trixie Mattel, who went on to win the show, beating Kennedy Davenport in the final lip sync. It also saw the return of Season 1 winner BeBe Zahara Benet, providing the chance for viewers to see her growth over the years.

This cast is one of the best as again, it is filled with beloved competitors and has a lot to offer. Most of this cast are incredible performers, from the dancing skills of Kennedy to Shangela’s energy to BeBe’s bizarre personality. Milk also provides a lot of drama within this season and BenDeLaCreme’s shocking self-elimination is another reason as to why this cast is great, it was so unexpected but true to her personality.

4 All Stars Season 6

All Stars 6 may not jump to everyone’s mind as one of the best seasons, but it certainly has an amazing cast. It sees the return of many queens who had not appeared in years, like Kylie Sonique Love and Jiggly Caliente, as well as queens who were fairly new to the franchise, like Jan and Scarlet Envy. Kylie Sonique Love was the winner, becoming the franchise’s first trans winner.

This cast was so good as it contained 2 transgender contestants, Kylie and Jiggly, which is great progress for the show. It also contained a lot of talent and sisterhood. The whole cast is incredibly quotable and every elimination was a tough watch due to the sheer charisma that this cast had.

3 Canada Season 1

Canada’s Drag Race is one of many international seasons of the franchise. It offers a refreshing change from the original US version. It also offers a refreshing cast. Priyanka is the queen who wins this season and arguably has had one of the best reigns of the competition winners.

This cast is one of the best, as it is a pilot season, so it contains variety and a lot of talent. From comedy with the likes of Jimbo and BOA to fashion with the likes of Lemon and Rita Baga, Canada has it all. The cast is often playfully shady to one another and also has the occasional “Untucked” fight to keep the audience hooked. The top 3 performance consisted of Rita Baga, Scarlett BoBo, and Priyanka, who are such incredible performers.

2 Canada Season 2.

Much like the first season, Canada’s Drag Race season 2 is just as good! This entry saw fashion queen Icesis Couture take the crown against fierce competition, fellow finalists Kendall Gender and Pythia.

This cast was filled with variety and talent. There were a lot of amazing fashion queens who were also very funny, and a lot of charming personalities. Another trio was featured in this season, consisting of Kendall Gender, Synthia Kiss, and Gia Metric, which was a sweet friendship to watch on screen. Eve 6000 also added drama to this season, crying in most episodes she was in.

1 UK Season 2

Drag Race UK is another refreshing international season, the second season being a beloved installment due to its incredible cast. This competition saw Lawrence Chaney win, a Scottish queen who charmed the audience from episode 1 with her thick accent and hilarious comments.

The other finalists in this season were London queen Bimini Bon Boulash and Welsh queen Tayce. All three were fairly different but all were great performers. The rest of the cast was also amazing, there were fashion queens like A’whora, comedy queens like Tia Kofi, and fantastic singers like Veronica Green. The wide variety of different talents made this cast one of the best of the franchise, and the drama within the untucked moments also added t0 it.
