Funko Pop! collectors know their stuff, and when it comes to Avatar: The Last Airbender, there are some clear winners of the assortment. The main characters were first Funko-ized in 2018, but following the addition of the cabbage man in 2019, there has been a marked increase in the variety of Avatar pops to choose from.

There was an especially large boom in July of 2021, with characters like Suki, Zhao, Ozai, Mai, and others finally included in the pool of figures. And with the popularity of the series soaring with the Netflix acquisition, there are sure to be many other designs in the works. Of those that are currently available, a few certainly stand out, and it would be a shame not to give them the praise they deserve.

Suki

Tough, daring, and master of hand-to-hand combat, it’s a wonder Suki wasn’t added to the Avatar collection years ago. Her figure showcases everything magnificent about Suki’s character design. She clutches the Kyoshi warrior fans in both fists and sports her signature golden headpiece, and her makeup is just as eye-catching as it was in the main series.

She translates well as a Funko Pop! compared to some of the less colorful figures out there, and Funko connaisseurs won’t have to worry about Suki disappearing into their stacks of collectibles. Her brilliant red eye shadow and battle-hungry stance will definitely separate her from the pack.

Iroh

Warm and happy, Iroh’s Funko Pop! oozes just as much charm as Iroh the character does in his appearances on both Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. He holds a small cup of tea, as expected, and his eyes curve ever so slightly in happiness. This eye curvature is very uncommon in a Funko Pop!, as most figures have the traditional black circles, but it’s not difficult to see why they made an exception.

They soften his design, and it’s an easy way to represent the kindness and wisdom of Iroh’s charisma that makes him such an iconic and lovable character. And in his season 1 garb, his figure is a nice way for a collector to stay in touch with Avatar: The Last Airbender‘s roots as opposed to some of the flashier pops on this list.

Aang With Momo

While the Aang figure is nothing special compared to his later versions, it’s the teeny tiny Momo that makes this Funko Pop! so exceptional. There are a good amount of common pops in other franchises that come with companion figures, but this Momo variant is definitely the cutest of the bunch. Only a few inches tall, he sits on top of Aang’s head, and his ears cock characteristically to the side.

The designers did a great job with the proportions, and the grandeur of his ears is exactly like in the show, albeit a bit bigger in the Funko Pop! fashion. A fan should grab this collectible just for the tiny Momo, as he really is a sight to behold.

Aang On Airscooter (Glow-In-The-Dark)

This Funko Pop! was all the buzz a few years ago, skyrocketing in price from $11 to over $150, as it goes with chase variants, but the giant price tag isn’t what makes this pop so cool. It’s the eyes. Since the figure is a chase, there had to be something a little different about him, so the designers decided to go with an Avatar State Aang. A glow-in-the-dark type of Avatar State Aang.

So not only does he look amazing during the day with his bright white eyes, he even glows at night, as though the real Aang is there on the shelf. Until the recent Aang (Avatar State) pop came out, this figure was one of a kind, but even against the newer pop, it still holds up as an amazing chase.

Zuko (Glow-In-The-Dark)

This pop was the first post-season 1 Zuko to come out, and it’s still the only one with his signature floppy hair and gold-and-red robes. Since a coil of lightning slithers out of his outstretched fist and his swords lay strapped against his back, the figure is clearly an homage to the battle between Zuko and Ozai, and it’s a great moment to have eternally preserved in Funko Pop! form.

The lightning also glows in the dark, which is always a plus, especially given the fact that real lightning would actually glow. It’s a nice detail, and it’s one of the many reasons why this Zuko is much cooler than his ponytail counterpart. Not that there’s anything wrong with the ponytail, of course.

Cabbage Man And Cart

The best background character of the entire series, the always lovable and funny Cabbage Man deserves every bit of memorializing that he can get, and this figure is an especially awesome one out of the entire Avatar: The Last Airbender lineup. It’s also probably the only Funko-ized cabbage cart in existence.

One of the coolest parts of the figure is the box art, which showcases the signature rocky path and giant stone statues of the Avatar opening sequence. Right in front is the cabbage merchant, who holds a head of cabbage tenderly in two hands, as though keeping it safe. Good job, Cabbage Man.

Azula (Glow-In-The-Dark)

Hair sliced jaggedly across her face, signature blue flames billowing out behind her, this Azula Funko Pop! really is amazing. It perfectly encapsulates her ultimate demise in “Sozin’s Comet,” when she duels Zuko in their epic Agni Kai, and it’s a nice touch that it’s glow-in-the-dark as well.

A little extra boost of spooky, as if her sliced bangs and angry scowl weren’t enough. The figure is only the second Azula Funko Pop! to be released, and it marks a stark contrast to the cool, collected version that showcased her season 2 outfit. It’s a definite must-have for any Azula fans out there, and it won’t disappoint.

The Blue Spirit

Collectors waited an agonizing amount of time until this figure finally came out. As an already appealing character design, the Blue Spirit is a natural Funko Pop!, and designers definitely made the right move in porting him over. With his swords crossed in a characteristic “X,” the only thing missing is Aang’s terrified face and an angry Zhao, though it wouldn’t be surprising if they ever made an oversized pop of that exact moment.

There really are endless possibilities with the Blue Spirit design. And for fans who want an even cooler version, a glow-in-the-dark chase exists, though the common stands just as stylistic on its own.

Aang (Avatar State) Glow-In-The-Dark

Huge and planet-like, this Funko Pop! is one honking figure. Aang hovers a few inches above the ground, suspended in midair by a discreet plastic base, and swirling around him are the four elements in their typical ring formation. The pop represents Aang’s final battle with Ozai, and it perfectly showcases the air nomad’s transition into a fully realized Avatar.

It’s also a physically unique Funko Pop! as only a select few are “giant” sized, let alone enclosed in a big plastic airball with glowing eyes and tattoos. This figure represents one of the hugest moments from the series, so Avatar fans definitely shouldn’t skip out.

Aang (Spirit)

The Aang (Spirit) pop isn’t as flashy as the Avatar State version, but it’s truly one of a kind. Blue, transparent, and glow-in-the-dark, Aang sits serenely with his staff clutched in one hand. It’s the only Avatar: The Last Airbender Funko Pop! in the spirit world, and it belongs to the small group of BoxLunch Earth Day Exclusives, making it one of the most unique figures out of the collection.

Plus, he just looks plain cool. There aren’t many pops that are transparent, but for those that are, most look exactly the same. Aang (Spirit) stands out from the rest with his blue tinge and dark arrow, securing the top spot on this list with these one-of-a-kind characteristics.
