Any comic fan would know that Marvel is home to a lot of incredible superhero teams. Of course, there’s the Avengers and the X-Men. Then there’s also Spider-Man and other superhero characters in the Spider-Verse. Sure, everyone knows they team up but do these superheroes’ worlds also collide?

Excitedly, they do although their encounters may not always be harmonious. That’s because Marvel sometimes brings villains together and that leads to more chaos. On other hand, when superheroes from different worlds team up, things get more exciting. While those aforementioned teams are iconic, there are lesser-known team-ups that are great too.

10 Captain Marvel And Wolverine

Fans cannot wait until Wolverine would be introduced into the MCU. After all, the character seems to get along with the Avengers, specifically Captain Marvel. As it turns out, the two are longtime friends.

In Logan: Shadow Society #1, Carol Danvers had been a spy before she transformed into a superhero (although this is not the case in the MCU). At one point, she and Logan encounter Victor Creed, a.k.a. Sabretooth, and the Hellfire Club.

9 Captain Marvel And Guardians Of The Galaxy

In the Marvel comics, Captain Marvel is a very popular character who tends to collaborate with just about anyone. For instance, she also teamed up with the Guardians of the Galaxy. It all started when she was determined to save Tic, a refugee Torfan who had fled Torfa save her people from Spartan King J’Son, Star-Lord’s father.

They end up encountering some mercenaries across the galaxy during the rescue. To make things more complicated, Tic was having a tantrum. Fortunately, the Guardians showed up to offer some assistance.

8 Hawkeye, Black Widow, And Guardians Of The Galaxy

Just like in MCU’s Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, the entire universe has come under threat in the Marvel comics. To keep it from getting destroyed, an intergalactic team-up was necessary.

In the 2015 comics Guardians Team-Up #2, Guardians Gamora and Rocket decide to work with Black Widow and Hawkeye to keep everyone’s worlds from falling apart. You’d have to read the story to find out if the team-up had succeeded. After all, the comics world doesn’t necessarily have happy or triumphant endings.

7 Avengers And Wolverine

As fans have seen in Endgame, the Avengers don’t mind teaming up with other groups if the situation is dire and more superheroes are needed on the field. In the comics, the group even fought alongside Wolverine at one point. In Marvel Team-Up Vol 3 #11, Doctor Strange brings together the Hulk, Spider-Man, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, and Nova.

The group made their way to Japan where they encounter Wolverine who was already battling the villain Titannus. Granted, longtime Marvel fans may find this team-up strange considering Wolverine and the Hulk usually don’t get along.

6 Iron Man And Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.

As fans may recall, Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) appeared in the MCU prior to starring in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Hence, if there was anyone who would introduce the Avengers to this group, it would be him. In the comics though, introductions are not necessary.

Following the Civil War, Iron Man goes on to become the director of both the Avengers Initiative and S.H.I.E.L.D. And while Tony appeared to be perfect for the role, this superhero also came under fire for having a relationship with Maya Hansen.

5 Spider-Man And Ant-Man

They may have fought for opposing sides in Captain America: Civil War but in the comics, these two superheroes team up at least once. It happened in an issue of Marvel Team-Up where they are also joined by Ant-Man’s daughter, Cassie, and The Daily Bugle’s John Jonah Jameson.

In the story, Peter Parker is sent by Jameson on an assignment in New York. As he reaches his destination, however, he encounters the villainous Taskmaster. Spider-Man gets some help when Ant-Man comes to his aid.

4 Spider-Man And Fantastic Four

In the world of Marvel comics, Spider-Man teams up with just about anyone. In fact, he even works with the Fantastic Four in Marvel Team-Up #100. Here, Spider-Man finds himself being mind-controlled by an unknown female mutant. This woman then uses Spider-Man to break into a party that the Fantastic Four were attending.

Later on, the Fantastic Four also get mind-controlled, forcing Torch to blast with Spider-Man with fire. Thankfully, Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four eventually manage to break free and ultimately, save the day together. Aside from them, Charles Xavier also appears in this story.

3 Thor And Spider-Man

In the MCU, Thor and Spider-Man are yet to truly collaborate, although they did fight together in Endgame. In the comics, the story opens with the Living Monolith unleashing chaos in New York City. To make matters worse, he has Spider-Man in his clutches and nearly succeeds in killing him.

Fortunately, Thor appears and rescues Spider-Man. The two superheroes then work together to take him down. During the fight, they also encounter the mutant Havok who has been associated with both the X-Men and the Avengers.

2 Spider-Man And Black Widow

In the comics, the two superheroes encounter each other after an attack on a S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier leaves Black Widow with amnesia. She also starts to believe that she’s a school teacher who goes by the name Nancy Rushman. Upon realizing that something’s wrong with Black Widow, Spider-Man contacts Nick Fury who sends over Shang-Chi.

In the meantime, Spider-Man and Nancy end up falling each other. Unfortunately, their romance gets disrupted when Natasha gets her memories back. Natasha even tells Peter, “My feelings aren’t hers. I’m sorry.”

1 Captain America And Wolverine

If Captain Marvel and Wolverine have a team-up, it only makes sense that Marvel would do one involving Wolverine and Captain America too. In the comics, the two men end up collaborating several times. And although they’ve usually fought on the same side, there are times when Cap was hesitant to recruit Wolverine to the Avengers.

That said, Iron Man does bring in Wolverine in The New Avengers #1. On the other hand, it also worth noting that Wolverine chose to fight alongside the Avengers even during the events of Avengers vs. X-Men #1.
