10 Most Amazing Friends Nail Art Designs

Friends is probably one of the most popular and well-known television sitcoms of all time. It contained a central cast of six characters, all of whom were distinct from each other in terms of personality and interests and are pretty easily identifiable even to casual viewers of the show.

Like other shows and films that become a part of popular culture, fans express their love of the show through various means from tattoos to fan art and from writing fan fiction to coming up with makeup styles inspired by the show, such as nail art. Friends nail art is not exactly a common practice in itself, but there are still some cool and interesting designs that can be found on social media. Here are 10 designs in particular that are just amazing and are great tributes to the show.

10 Monica Geller

This first set of nail art features the character Monica Geller and different symbols associated with her. She has a catchphrase: “I know!” which she says when she shares another person’s excitement or disdain for something or someone. She famously wore a raw turkey on her head one Thanksgiving in order to cheer up Chandler, her partner and future husband at the time, after getting into an argument with him. It is that moment when Chandler and Monica first say “I love you,” to each other.

Monica is a chef, which is why there is a chef’s hat. And her door has the iconic golden frame around the peephole that acts as a prominent symbol for the show as a whole in various media.

9 Super Simple

This nail art is pretty minimalistic. It features the same shade of purple as Monica Geller’s door paired with bright orange on other nails. Then, as many on this list do, it features the framed peephole that is on Monica’s door. And again, like others on this list, it features the Friends logo, but this time is consolidated to two fingers, rather than spread to four fingers or squished onto one.

Finally, a lobster is also painted onto a fingernail, in reference to the idea of being a person’s lobster, or life partner, which was discussed in season two in relation to Ross Geller’s feelings for Rachel Green.

8 For The Love Of Lobster, Part I

Unlike others on this list, this nail art focuses on one of the many symbolic aspects of Friends, particularly the concept of being someone’s lobster. Phoebe Buffay introduced this idea to Ross in season two during one of the many times he was moping after Rachel because he had fallen in love with her and wanted to “mate” with her for life.

This nail art features lobsters alongside the quote “You’re my lobster,” which Ross at one point says to Rachel. The quote is also accompanied by multi-colored hearts.

7 Friends Logo On New York Skyline And Other Iconography

This nail art is nice and simple. It features the well-known Friends logo on the thumb and even matches its color scheme. Behind the logo is the New York City skyline. Upon swiping left (or clicking to the right), there are two additional pictures to look at, revealing more nail art designs.

Some nails feature some of the most quotable lines from the show such as “How you doin’,” “We were on a break,” and “Smelly cat.” Both hands also feature the framed peephole discussed above and the Central Perk logo. One of the pinky fingers features coffee cups, another nod to the group’s favorite hangout spot.

6 Simple Framing

As mentioned before, one of the identifying symbols for the show is the golden frame around the peephole on the door to Monica Geller’s apartment throughout the series. This nail art is even simpler than the earlier entries. Every nail is purple and is even the same shade of purple as Monica’s door.

Then, on only one nail, the framed peephole is painted. Of all of the pictures on this list, this nail art is the most reminiscent of the door by using one solid color as the background with the yellow frame on only one nail, as opposed to having a repeated pattern.

5 Central Perk

Central Perk is rightfully named as such because it is a central location to the cast of Friends. Rachel worked there for a time and all six friends hung out there.

This nail art has a black background that often comes along with Friends and the logos associated with it. One of the fingers depicts the Central Perk logo as shown in the window of the coffee shop. Two other fingers depict coffee mugs similar to those used at Central Perk. And the rest of the fingernails are blank, for the sake of simplicity.

4 General Friends Iconography

Similar to other nail art featured here, these nails feature the Friends and the Central Perk logos. They also feature the purple door with the framed peephole, and the less-common Smelly Cat. It also features famous catchphrases from Joey Tribbiani, “How you doin’,” and from Ross, “We were on a break!” Both of these quotes were also featured on other nail art but in different styles. Also commonly featured is the lobster and the coffee cup.

This nail art makes itself unique by also incorporating the umbrellas featured in the opening credits of the series. It also uses another famous line, “Pivot,” alongside the picture of a couch, which is in reference to Ross trying to take a couch upstairs to his apartment and yelling at Chandler to pivot in order to get it upstairs.

3 Phoebe Buffay

Similar to the nail art for Monica Geller, this nail art features Phoebe Buffay and symbols that the show and fans associate with her. She sometimes goes by the pseudonym “Regina Phalange” when she does not want to use her real name for whatever situation she finds herself in. The nail color used for the background is also called Regina Falange, but obviously is spelled differently.

And finally, Phoebe sings songs on the guitar, primarily on the street or at Central Perk, the most notable of which is “Smelly Cat.” Both a smelly cat and an acoustic guitar are painted on nails in this nail art set as well.

2 Accurate Art

While simple, this artwork is also incredibly detailed. It accurately portrays the Friends logo, this time across three fingernails, as well as accurately depicts the Central Perk logo. These are distinct from other nail art on this list which are styled more like cartoons.

And, what is perhaps classic at this point, it once again features the light purple, almost lavender door, with the golden frame around the peephole, signifying Monica’s apartment, the other most common hangout spot for the group next to Central Perk. This framed peephole is more cartoon-like than the rest of the nails but is still as stunning as the other nails and the other nail art featured in this list.

1 For The Love Of Lobster, Part II

Finally, a reprise of the theme of focusing on the lobster concept. This nail art features a simple pink background, a color typically associated with love and Valentine’s Day, much like the color red, the color of lobsters. Lobsters are featured on three different nails with incredible detail.

Finally, on the nail of the middle finger, a red heart is painted with white lace painted around it. Within the heart are the words “You’re my lobster,” once again tying the theme together as Friends themed nail art.
