Alias is a tv series that aired on ABC until 2006. The show centered on Jennifer Garner’s Sydney Bristow as she ventured further into the world of espionage. Throughout its five seasons, we also watched Sydney discover more about her family in the process. The show was so popular and beloved that a reboot was considered several times.

In recent times, though, it has become unclear if a reboot is still possible considering what Garner and the rest of the cast have been up to since Alias.

10 30 Days Of Night

The 2007 horror-thriller focuses on a group trying to stay alive in an Alaskan town unable to get any daylight for a month and plagued by vampires. It stars Melissa George who is among the town residents. She is also joined by Josh Hartnett who is also her love interest in the movie.

30 Days of Night is actually one of many non-superhero movies that are based on comic books. Published in 2002, the comic mini-series of the same title was created by writer Steve Niles and illustrator Ben Templesmith.

9 True Memoirs of an International Assassin

This Netflix original movie stars King of Queens comedian Kevin James as a novelist who gets mistaken for a real assassin after his book is published as a true story. Aside from James, the cast also includes Alias alum Ron Rifkin who famously portrayed Arvin Sloane on the show.

In this movie, Rifkin plays James’ ex-Mossad whose confidential stories had been the basis of the published book. Unfortunately, the movie ranks as one of the worst Netflix original movies so far, with a rating of 0% on Rotten Tomatoes.

8 Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker

This 2019 intergalactic movie is the latest from Star Wars, one of the highest-grossing film franchises in history. Its cast includes Alias actor Greg Grunberg who played Blue Squadron pilot Snap Wexley in The Rise of Skywalker and The Force Awakens.

Unfortunately, the movie got a lukewarm reception. Grunberg didn’t mind the criticism for the most part, but the actor told The Hollywood Reporter that he took offense to a claim that director J.J. Abrams was “just pandering to the fans.” That being said, there are still some convincing arguments that it is the strongest film of the sequel trilogy.

7 Miracles From Heaven

Based on an incredible true story, Miracles from Heaven stars Garner as Christy Beam, a mother whose young daughter suffers from a rare and incurable disease. For the actress, working on the movie and getting to know her real-life counterpart behind the scenes had been a “transformative” experience.

While speaking with CBN, the actress also explained, “I would say that it reaffirmed things about myself that I had not brought to the forefront of my life for a while.” At the same time, Garner also revealed that she decided to go back to church after working on the movie.

6 Dallas Buyers Club

Today, the 2013 biographical film is hailed as one of the best LGBTQ+ movies of the past decade. Dallas Buyers Club stars Matthew McConaughey as Texas cowboy Ron Woodroof who smuggles in medication after being diagnosed with AIDS. The actor is also joined by Jared Leto and Garner, who played immunologist Dr. Eve Saks.

Unbeknownst to many, Garner nearly quit on the movie since she had been a new mother at the time of its production and “there was never a 10-minute break” to pump milk. Garner told People that McConaughey intervened and asked the crew to take breaks.

5 American Sniper

Based on a memoir, the Oscar-nominated film stars Alias alum, Bradley Cooper, as US Navy S.E.A.L. sniper Chris Kyle. The movie largely depicts Kyle’s experience on the battlefield and how the war also affected him personally upon returning home. Unfortunately, Kyle was shot dead in a Texas shooting range by a Marine veteran who was dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Upon learning of Kyle’s death, Cooper told the Navy Times that “it changed absolutely everything.” The actor added, “The expediency with which we filled our commitment changed.” Today, American Sniper is regarded as one of Cooper’s best movies.

4 Avengers: Endgame

The 2019 movie is arguably responsible for most of the impressive box office records broken by the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In fact, the movie currently holds the title of being the highest-grossing movie of all time. Meanwhile, it also boasts a large assembly of cast, which includes Cooper’s Rocket.

The Oscar-nominated actor has been voicing the character since Rocket made its MCU debut in the 2014 movie Guardians of the Galaxy. And with the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy III movie, we can expect Cooper to stick around with the MCU for a while.

3 The Arrangement

The Arrangement is a drama series that aired on E! for two seasons. Its story focuses on a starlet who enters into a marriage contract with a successful movie star. Alias alum Michael Vartan stars as Terence Anderson, the leader of the Institute of the Higher Mind who is ultimately revealed to be the show’s main villain.

While speaking with Collider, Vartan explained that he was happy to take on the role since “99% of my roles have always been the good guy,” including the one he played on Alias.

2 New Amsterdam

Based on a book, the 2018 NBC medical drama centers on the daily cases and challenges faced by doctors working at the fictional medical establishment New Amsterdam, America’s oldest public hospital. The hospital’s team is headed by Ryan Eggold who plays medical director Max Goodwin.

Rifkin makes an appearance on the show from time to time as Dean Fulton, the man who had hired Max to turn the hospital around. Unfortunately, Dean ends up getting voted out of his position as the hospital’s Dean. Max tried to stop the Board of Directors, but he was ultimately unsuccessful.

1 Power

Power is a series from Starz about a wealthy nightclub owner named James ‘Ghost’ St. Patrick who also happens to be a drug kingpin. The cast includes Alias alum Victor Garber who plays Ghost’s rival, Simon Stern. If you ask Garber, he likes to describe his character on the show as a “sleazy, rich businessman.”

The veteran actor also told Time that playing this particular role is “fun.” In 2019, Starz announced that Power would end after its sixth season. Nonetheless, you can still stream the show on Starz and other streaming services today.
