Sharkboy (Taylor Lautner) and Lavagirl (Taylor Dooley) were the hit superhero for kids. The main character Max (Cayden Boyd) creates an imaginary dream world called Planet Drool. Sharkboy and Lavagirl emerge from a tornado and need his help.

They must stop Mr.Electric (George Lopez) from ruing the planet. As the movie progresses, the story shifts to take place on Earth. Sharkboy, Lavagirl, Max, and Marissa (Sasha Pieterse) band together to save his parents and freeze Mr. Eelctric.

9 Thunderbirds (IMDb 4.3)

Thunderbirds will be a serious blast from the past that many forgot even existed. The 2004 action movie centered around the Tracy family. They operate technologically advanced machines called Thunderbirds in times of distress.

Every family has their young sibling who isn’t ready for the responsibility, and, when their arch-nemesis attacks and gets them trapped in Thunderbird 5, it’s up to Alan (Brady Corbet), Fermat (Soren Fulton), and their friend Tin-Tin (Vanessa Hudgens). Netflix released a new movie by Robert Rodriguez, the director of the popular Spy Kids movies. This movie also involves some kid heroes who take on the role of saving Earth from an alien invasion. Their parents are part of a superhero program, but they get captured by the aliens.

Who doesn’t remember watching Spy Kids? The movie and franchise became a sensation among young audiences and a twist on heroes that hadn’t been seen before. In this world, the OSS is a secret organization of spies. The Cortez’s are suddenly called to a mission but are captured.

Their two children, Carmen (Alexa Vega) and Juni (Daryl Sabara) learn about the family’s real job. Juni and Carmen decide to become spies, use their family’s gadgets, and save their parents and other OSS agents from Fegan Floop. Fans often recall the creepy “Thumb-Thumbs” minions and the impressive microwave that makes McDonald’s.

6 Sky High (6.2)

Ninth graders are still kids, right? Sky High was a fan-favorite Disney movie about a dream every kid washed was real. Will Stronghold (Michael Angarano) is the son of the most legendary superheroes, but he didn’t get powers of his own, and his parents have no idea why that may be. Now a freshman, he and his best friend must continue their education at Sky High.

A special high school literally in the middle of the sky for kids of heroes and villains. One of his parent’s old enemies returns and gets the help of the mean crew at school to turn all heroes into babies. It’s up to Will, his friend Layla (Danielle Panabaker), Warren Peace (Steven Strait), and the sidekicks to save the school and heroes.

5 The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (IMDb 6.9)

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is heralded as being one of the most compelling fantasy movies to come out of 2005. Four siblings find themselves in the magical world of Narnia hidden in a wardrobe, but Narnia is under threat as the White Witch (Tilda Swinton) has cursed Narnia to eternal winter 100 years ago.

With the diary of Dr. Abraham Van Helsing (Jack Gwillim), they learn that, on one special night, a powerful amulet becomes vulnerable to destruction. The kids realize that they must find the amulet and send the monsters into limbo before it’s too late. Dracula and his monsters seek to find the amulet to plunge the world into darkness.

3 IT (IMDb 7.3)

For this list, this entry is referring to the 2017 reboot movie IT. But, the original still deserves high praises as a Stephen King classic. The dangerous acts the kids in this movie went through would be the stuff of nightmares—quite literally. Set in 1988, Bill (Jaeden Lieberher) makes his younger brother a paper boat to play with, but, when he goes outside, he never returns.

Still plagued by his disappearance, Bill looks for answers. He and his new group of outcast friends learn that the town is plagued by a mysterious entity called “It” or Pennywise. Pennywise feasts on children and makes their worst nightmares come true. The Losers Club learns to push away their fears and rely on friendship to stop Pennywise and send him back where he came from. The Goonies is an oldie, but a goodie. This movie isn’t about superheroes, magic, or the supernatural. It’s a treasure hunt adventure by a group of friends. Mikey (Sean Astin) and his friends’ families are facing foreclosure and will have to move out of town. When looking through the attic, they discover a doubloon and a treasure map.

Mikey convinces his fries that it’s real and to find the treasure to stay where they belong. They go on a comical yet adventurous journey against a crime family also looking for treasure. They go through a dangerous quest through underground tunnels, a dangerous bone piano, and booby traps, and, in the end, the Goonies manage to get a small treasure to stop the foreclosure.
