Steven Universe is an animated series that aired from 2013 through 2020 on Cartoon Network. Despite being an animated series, this series definitely had fans of all ages and had a reach far beyond the audience of children that many people would think of as the normal audience for an animated series. The series follows a group of humanoid magical beings known as The Crystal Gems that protect the universe from evil.

This series is definitely one that will appeal to fans of Steven Universe because it features a main character who is somewhat like Steven in that they’re surrounded by magical beings, but don’t have quite the same level of powers as they do.

9 Gravity Falls (2012 – 2016)

Gravity Falls is like Steven Universe in that it’s another animated series that came to a close recently, leaving a gap in the hearts of many of its fans. Although many fans of Steven Universe have likely watched Gravity Falls, it’s worth checking out for fans that haven’t seen it.

8 Over The Garden Wall (2014)

Over the Garden Wall is an animated miniseries that aired in 2014 for a total of 10 episodes. This series’ focus on the mystical and its fantasy influences definitely make it great for people looking to watch a new animated series after finishing Steven Universe.

The series follows two brothers who find themselves lost in a strange and mystical land and they’re forced to befriend the characters there in order to try to find their way back home safely.

7 Star Vs. The Forces Of Evil (2015 – 2019)

Star vs. the Forces of Evil is an animated series that aired on Disney Channel and Disney XD from 2015 through 2019.

The series follows a magical princess named Star who is given a magic wand of her very own for her birthday, but quickly proves she’s not quite ready for all that responsibility. In order to get her to grow up and become more mature, her parents send her to Earth where she stays with the Diaz family, but is still a target of some serious intergalactic drama.

6 Twelve Forever (2019)

Twelve Forever is an animated series that aired in 2019 before going on an indefinite hiatus. The series follows a 12-year-old named Reggie who, like many other young kids her age, desperately wants to remain a child forever and never be forced to grow up and become more responsible.

The series follows a pair of best friends who work as groundskeepers at the local park. This bluejay and his raccoon best friend are the focus of the series and each episode follows their adventures as they try to keep their lives fun and interesting.

4 The Dragon Prince (2018 – )

The Dragon Prince is a Netflix original series that began airing on the streaming service in 2018. For people that like more intense and dramatic series, but want something that has the same fantasy elements as Steven Universe, this series is one to check out.

The series is set in a magical land known as Xadia where people get magic from six natural resources. But, mages create a seventh magic, dark magic, and have to harvest ingredients from the magical creatures that call Xadia home in order to continue making their dark magic.

3 She-Ra And The Princesses Of Power (2018 – 2020)

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is a reboot of the classic series from the 1980s that aired from 2018 through 2020. The series is a fantasy animated series that is perfect for people that like Steven Universe because of its magical themes and definitely a fun, nostalgic show to watch for people that watched the original series in the 80s.
