Contestants on The Bachelor come from all different backgrounds and education levels. Only a few of those contestants go on to win the heart of the Bachelor, though.

It’s true. Not every contestant on the show uses their instant fame to become an influencer on the internet. Each winner of the show is very smart and successful, and some have even graduated with master’s and doctorate degrees! Some of these women have reached sizable success with very respectable careers, both before and after their time on the show, claiming the title of smartest winners of The Bachelor.

10 Jennifer Wilson

Jennifer Wilson was a contestant on the show’s ninth season, winning the heart of Bachelor Lorenzo Borghese. Sadly, like many couples who met on the show, the relationship did not last. Jennifer was a junior high school teacher at the time of her appearance on the show. Not much is known about her career since the show aired. However, anybody with middle-school-aged children knows that it takes a special kind of person to teach them for a living. Becoming a teacher is also not as easy as most people think, as it requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, training, and many hours of student teaching. Plus, the process of finding a job can be pretty brutal.

9 Becca Kufrin

Rebecca “Becca” Kufrin was a contestant on Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s season. She was technically the winner, even though he broke it off with her before “After The Final Rose” even aired.

Becca got her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications at Minnesota State University, Mankato before becoming a very successful publicist (she even has the largest following on Instagram of all the Bachelorettes so maybe she knows a thing or two about publicity). Minnesota State University, Mankato is a decently prestigious school, ranking at number 80 of the Regional Colleges Midwest in the 2021 edition of Best Colleges.

8 Jen Schefft

Jen Schefft was the winner of Andrew Firestone’s season. And then when that relationship didn’t last, she became The Bachelorette. Before her time on the show, she had already graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. After her time on the show, she wrote and published a very successful book. Since she did not find love on either The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, she had built a reputation for herself as a single woman. Her book was about how being single is actually a good thing when it means refusing to settle and end up divorced before 30 years old.

7 Whitney Bischoff

Whitney Bischoff was a contestant on Chris Soules’ season. She was his final pick and the two got engaged at the end of the show. Sadly, like many couples who met on the show, the relationship did not last forever.

Before the show, Whitney had already graduated with her bachelor’s of science degree and had become a registered nurse. She is a fertility nurse, so she could help those who struggled to have their own children to be able to conceive somewhat naturally. To this day, she still works as a fertility nurse and even speaks publicly about fertility to help struggling couples all over the country have kids.

6 Sarah Brice

Sarah Brice was a contestant on Charlie O’Connell’s season, where he ultimately chose her in the end. They began a relationship that did not last. However, Sarah is now happily married with beautiful babies. She was a registered nurse during her time on the show. Today, she is the National Director of Practice Marketing at Cutera. Cutera is a company that specializes in aesthetics and enhancing cosmetic procedures for both men and women on the face and body. So she gets to use her medical knowledge to help people feel better about themselves.

5 Helene Eksterowicz

Helene Eksterowicz was the winner of the second season of the show, where she met and got engaged to Aaron Buerge. They eventually broke it off before walking down the aisle. By the time she went on The Bachelor, she was a successful woman already established in her career. Helene was a school psychologist at an elementary school. She has also worked as a school psychologist at a junior high school as well.

4 Tessa Horst

Tessa Horst was a contestant on Andrew “Andy” Baldwin’s season of The Bachelor. The two got engaged on the season finale of the show, but it did not last.

Before coming on the show, she was already working as a social worker in San Fransisco. She graduated in 2003 with her bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College. Then, she went on to get her master’s in social work from Columbia University. She is one of the only winners from the show to get more than just a bachelor’s degree in college.

3 Jessica Bowlin

Jessica Bowlin was the contestant who went on to win the heart of Jesse Palmer. The two were in a relationship when the show ended but Jesse never proposed to her. They were only together for about a month after the show aired before calling it quits. Afterward, Jessica went on to get her law degree from Chapman University in southern California. She now works as an attorney at law, living happily with her husband and children.

2 Amanda Marsh

Amanda Marsh made history in the franchise. She was the very first “winner” of the show, getting engaged to the first-ever Bachelor Alex Michel at the end of his season. As the story often goes, the relationship did not last. However, Amanda is thriving in her life and career. She is now living in Kansas and working as a nurse practitioner. Nurse practitioners need to earn a bachelor’s of science in nursing degree, a master’s of science or a doctorate degree, and pass a special exam before becoming certified.

1 Nikki Ferrell

Nikki Ferrell was the winner of Juan Pablo’s season. He infamously did not propose to her, and even refused to tell her that he loved her even after several months of being together since the show wrapped. Thankfully for Nikki, the two broke it off. She is now living her best life as a pediatric nurse practitioner in Missouri. It is difficult enough to become a nurse practitioner. It is even more difficult to become a pediatric nurse practitioner.
