Suits is one of those shows that didn’t get the credit it deserved. The legal drama quietly aired on USA Network for nine seasons, and featured tons of memorable characters and actors, including Meghan Markle who, of course, went on to marry Prince Harry and become the Duchess of Sussex.

But alongside the fan-favorite characters like Mike Ross and Harvey Specter, who shared a great bromance on Suits, along with Louis Litt, Donna Paulsen, and Jessica Pearson, there were supporting characters that fans weren’t so enamored with.

10 Sheila Sazs

Fans did like Sheila, considering she was the perfect match for Louis and is the one person to finally make him happy. But there were times when she wasn’t exactly the favorite, and one of the worst recurring characters on Suits. She is the one, after all, who tipped off the U.S. Attorney’s office to the fact that Mike didn’t actually graduate from Harvard, which set off a tragic chain of events.

While there were some great things about Sheila, fans didn’t like sometimes how she treated Louis and got in the way of the law office, even if she was technically only doing the right thing each time.

9 Daniel Hardman

If there was ever a clear villain on Suits, it was Daniel Hardman. Co-founder of Pearson Hardman, as it was originally known, he was out for blood after being forced to leave when it was discovered that he was embezzling money. Jessica used the information of his affair on his wife, who had cancer at the time, as a means of blackmailing him to leave.

Daniel was played by Dave Costabile, who fans might recognize as Gale, one of the characters from Breaking Bad with the most tragic deaths. Unlike Gale, however, Daniel was not only smart but also ruthless. Daniel caused a lot of trouble for the firm when he came back, forcing Jessica to merge with another law firm and generally wreaking havoc.

8 Sean Cahill

While Sean often came to Harvey’s rescue, there was something about him that made fans not like or trust him. A prosecutor for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, he always seemed to be holding something over Harvey’s head and that of the firm.

He was a constant threat that fans didn’t like getting in the way. He did become an ally over time, even helping Mike get released from prison early. But in the beginning, Sean was not a fan favorite.

7 Samantha Wheeler

Samantha Wheeler had strikes against her from the get-go since she arrived in the latter seasons to fill the hole left by the departure of two main characters, Jessica and Rachel. And while she was a solid addition to the legal team and a badass female who trained in boxing in her free time, her character didn’t quite live up to the others.

She began as a very ruthless person who was only in it for herself, which mirrored both Jessica and Harvey. But since she often went against characters who fans had already come to know and love, she was not a favorite. By the time Samantha had officially joined, she was among the least likable main characters on Suits.

6 Charles Forstman

The epitome of selfish wealth, Charles had billions but didn’t do much good. He manipulated and used people and garnered a bad reputation for himself. It was because of Harvey’s brother threatening to go to Forstman for money that Harvey took the job with Jessica in the first place.

However, it’s all because Charles was bad news. He ended up in prison where he belonged. While Charles was a compelling villain who showed up on occasion on the show, he was never a likable character.

5 Jack Soloff

Jack came across as an opportunist, a lawyer who was never quite good enough to become top dog but believed that he was always overlooked. The second things got tough, Jack jumped ship to join Rand, Kaldor & Zane.

He did help Mike through his journey at the firm but he also shed a spotlight on Harvey’s inflated paycheck, mostly because he was jealous. He even came up with a new compensation formula, as the head of the compensation committee, to ensure that Harvey didn’t make away with millions more than everyone else. He tried over and over again to one-up Mike, Harvey, and Jessica, but was always bested by them.

4 Frank Gallo

A prisoner alongside Mike, while Frank was charged with conspiracy to commit murder (even though he claimed it was racketeering). It was clear that he was violent and dangerous and had it out for Mike from the get-go. He was a constant threat that made Mike’s time in prison worse than it had to be.

He had the prison system and guards wrapped around his finger, and it was later revealed that it was Harvey who put him in jail, which led him to try and get revenge through Mike. He was an overall despicable person and violent criminal.

3 Trevor

It was because of Mike’s childhood friend that he was kicked out of Harvard in the first place, and barred from ever legally being able to become a lawyer, which set Mike’s life on the wrong path. Not only that, but when Trevor resurfaced, he is the one who broke the truth to Jessica about Mike not actually having a law degree.

Trevor was a bad influence on Mike, using him to take tests for other students to help pay off Trevor’s drug debt. While Mike was indebted to Trevor and his family for being there for him following the tragic death of his parents, it still didn’t give Trevor the right to use Mike’s abilities to get him out of a jam he got himself into.

2 Dana Scott

While Dana was a strong, smart woman and seemingly a good match for Harvey, fans were too invested in the “will they, won’t they” relationship between Harvey and Donna, despite the fact that others felt Donna was overrated on Suits. They were so rooting for Harvey and Donna to end up together in the end, that any woman Harvey appeared to be serious with was unwelcome.

While she did a lot to help Harvey, even when she had to put their differences aside and realized that Donna would always be part of the relationship, fans wished she didn’t create a hiccup in their eventual love story.

1 Anita Gibbs

The woman who set out to take down Mike Ross, it’s for this reason that fans did not like her from the get-go. She was focused on having Mike disbarred, not taking into account all of the good he had done. Instead, she focused on a technicality.

While she was merely doing her job and was right in her actions, since she was an antagonist and against two fan-favorite characters, by default, her role was not one that fans liked.
