The Great British Baking Show (also known as The Great British Bake Off) has quickly become one of the most popular television shows around. Being a hit in both the U.K. and America, the show is incredibly charming, cozy, and very entertaining. Seeing twelve different bakers compete against each other in a weekly knockout style show, this series has brilliant comedy and some amazing baking.

The quality of baking on the show increases with every season and each year the challenges get harder. With top bakers providing the tasks and two comedians hosting, there’s always a laugh to be found. While it certainly isn’t the traditional style of cooking show, it is very popular. But, when the series finishes for the year, what else can fans of The Great British Baking Show enjoy?

10 Zumbo’s Just Desserts (2016-2019)

While The Great British Baking Show doesn’t always focus on desserts, there’s no denying the fact that the series relies heavily on the sweeter side of food. For people who enjoy the cakes, biscuits, and other sweet treats that get created, then Zumbo’s Just Desserts is the perfect show to watch next!

This show focuses on a group of amateur cooks creating some of the craziest desserts that you’re ever likely to see and it’s all set in a very whimsical way. It feels more like Willy Wonka than anything traditional like The Baking Show, but it is still a lot of fun.

9 Bake Off: The Professionals (2016-)

Anyone who enjoys The Great British Baking Show will certainly find Bake Off: The Professionals fun. This is the same team that makes the show everyone loves, except the key difference here is that rather than using amateur bakers, it is a group of professionals that compete against each other.

Because of that, things are a little more serious with this show, with the judges sometimes being quite harsh as they really critique things in fine detail. The food that is made is truly wonderful, plus former Great British Baking Show competitor, Liam Charles appears as one of the hosts!

8 Junior Bake Off (2011-)

Just as Bake Off: The Professionals is a spin-off from the classic series, that isn’t the only one. Junior Bake Off is another show that is very similar to The Great British Baking Show. This series takes place inside the famous tent itself and sees children step up to the challenge of baking.

Liam Charles is involved in this project as well alongside comedian Harry Hill, and Prue Leith, who is involved in The Baking Show. It’s a really fun show and while the challenges aren’t quite as tricky as they are for the adults, these young bakers are incredibly skilled and anyone who loves the style of the original show will find this fun.

7 MasterChef Junior (2013-)

Speaking of junior cooking shows, MasterChef Junior is another really fun series that fans would enjoy. While the traditional MasterChef is also a fun series, that is a little more intense and can feature a rather angry Gordon Ramsay, which doesn’t quite fit in with the vibe that The Great British Baking Show provides.

However, MasterChef Junior shows a much softer side to Ramsay’s personality, which is a very fun part of the show. But overall, the competitive aspect is there, but it is also about coaching and helping these young chefs improve, which is what happens on The Baking Show as well.

6 Come Dine With Me (2005-)

Another great food-related series that people will enjoy is Come Dine With Me. This is an excellent series that sees five people each host a dinner party, with a three-course menu and some entertainment, while the rest of them rate the night out of 10.

The episodes are fairly short and therefore it is nice and quick to watch, and the series is a lot of fun. While it is a little more dramatic than The Great British Baking Show, as tension can rise and arguments do happen, it’s a lot of fun to see how people have different takes on food and dinner parties. Plus, putting very different personalities together is always fun to see.

5 Paul Hollywood: A Baker’s Life (2017)

Paul Hollywood has been a huge part of The Great British Baking Show’s success, with his slightly stern attitude making him seem like the ‘bad guy’ at times. Of course, that isn’t really the case, but he is the toughest to impress and has the highest standards.

This show allows audiences to see a different side of Hollywood, opening up on what he is really like as a baker. Paul Hollywood showcases his skills himself here, allowing fans to see exactly what he’s capable of as he bakes some of his favorite recipes.

4 Nadiya’s British Food Adventure (2017)

Another series that fans of The Great British Baking Show will enjoy is Nadiya’s British Food Adventure. The series follows Nadiya Hussain, who won the show in 2015 as she travels around the United Kingdom to learn all about the different foods that people make.

It’s a very informative show as she looks into the differences around the country and then creates a variety of meals herself with local ingredients she picks up along the way. Much like The Great British Baking Show, it’s just a cozy television show that people can snuggle down and enjoy, showcasing some great food as well.

3 The Final Table (2018)

This fantastic cooking show can be found on Netflix and it is absolutely binge-worthy. Much like The Great British Baking Show, this is a cooking competition that has some really ambitious and exciting recipes being created with pairs from around the world coming together to compete.

They create national dishes, which helps to make this show educational as well, with each episode being focused on a different country. It’s a really innovative and exciting culinary show as everyone competes for just one spot alongside nine legendary, well-known chefs on The Final Table.

2 Be Our Chef (2020)

This series can be found on Disney+ and obviously, due to the fact it is on that streaming service, the show does have a Disney theme. It is a cooking show where families come together to make different meals, all linked to Disney movies and characters with the theme.

The creativity involved in this series is off the charts and that is something that people would enjoy. Plus, much like The Great British Baking Show, while this is a competition, everyone gets along and that brings a really heartwarming feel to this series.

1 Best Home Cook (2018-)

When it was announced that Mary Berry was leaving The Great British Baking Show, there was a lot of disappointment as she was such a beloved part of the series. However, for those who still miss here then fear not, because people can still watch her on Best Home Cook.

The series has a very similar feel to The Great British Baking Show in the sense that it brings in amateur cooks to compete in various challenges, judged by professionals, one of which is Mary. The only difference here is that the show focuses more on meals, rather than just baking, but it is just as charming and fun to watch.
