10 WTF Metalocalypse Moments

Over the course of four seasons and one special on Adult Swim, Metalocalypse told the story of Dethklok, a fictional Death Metal band who have achieved a level of success and popularity so great that they have the seventh-largest economy on Earth.

Due to their incredible wealth, they are insanely out of touch with reality. That being said, they were probably dangerous and stupid people before they got rich. It’s a show filled with insane moments, some even more WTF than others.

10 Stupid Human Tricks

There are a lot of people in the lives of Dethklok you have to feel bad for because they are in the lives of Dethklok. Dealing with them can be a challenge, to say the least. No one had it worse than their manager, Charles Foster Offdensen.

Charles often held meetings with the band to discuss the endless array of issues that plagued them. Unsurprisingly, those meetings normally went off the rail. One of the worst was when Nathan debuted a new talent he discovered which turned everything into an even more insane version of stupid human tricks.

9 Takin’ It Easy

Murderface is not known for his songwriting ability. Frankly, his ability to read and write in general is questionable. But when he decided to get involved in Dethklok’s songwriting process, he enlisted the help of Toki Wartooth to put a song together.

The end result was something that sounded like it belonged on an April Wine album, not a Dethklok album. Nathan shut the song down with a simple, “No.”

8 Visiting The Doctor

Not only is Murderface not the best songwriter, but he’s also terrible at going to the doctor. The entire band is terrible at it, to be frank. But just like everyone else, Dethklok needs to get regular checkups to make sure they’re healthy, especially for insurance purposes.

Everyone does about as well as one might expect them to do, however, Murderface really drops the ball. He’s so paranoid about the doctor examining his genitals that he imagines a long series of beautiful women, including The Golden Girls, to get through it. Unfortunately, he overcompensates and becomes aroused. The end result is Murderface quite literally punching his own genitals repeatedly.

7 Failed Zazz Blammymatazz Reunions

Doctor Rockso the Rock and Roll Clown is one of the best-known musicians in the world. As a member of the 1980’s hair metal band Zazz Blammymatazz, he tore up the music charts. He also constantly dresses like a clown, does absurd amounts of cocaine, and makes non-stop terrible decisions, mostly because of the cocaine.

Toki loves the guy but everyone else in Dethklok hates him. When Toki spends the band’s vacation money on a Zazz reunion, Nathan points out all of the failed ones, which were primarily caused by Rockso’s drug issues.

6 The Food Library

Saying that the members of Dethklok are divorced from reality is one of the greatest understatements of all time. While it’s highly likely they have been like this their entire lives, their status as Death Metal mega gods certainly doesn’t help.

This was fully on display when the band went to the food library, the place most people call the grocery store. Pickles was the only one of the five who knew where they were. Watching them try to do their own grocery shopping was head-scratching at best.

5 Fighting For Diversity

Dethklok was accused of being racist, a concern that permeates the genre of music they play. Nathan was flummoxed by this as he doesn’t care about their fans at all, let alone what race they are. Still, he and the rest of the band decided to do something about it.

If you assumed a diversity initiative undertaken by Dethklok went sideways, you would be correct. They showed up to a diversity event they organized dressed in white robes and white hoods.

4 Nathan Isn’t Good At Fast Food

The dreams of the frontman of a legendary Death Metal band are horrifying, to say the least. For Nathan Explosion, he sometimes dreams about working in fast food.

In this specific dream, the rest of the band members were killed by a murder of crows and Nathan ended up working in a fast food restaurant. After a bad encounter with a former fan, Nathan burned his hands off in the deep fryer.

3 Laser Pointer

As always, when Charles Foster Offdensen tries to have a legitimate meeting, the band steers it right into a bridge abutment. Nathan brought a laser pointer to what should have been a very important discussion about their finances. He started shining said lasers into the eyes of other members of the band, sometimes at their request.

Naturally, Toki took things a step further by giving himself a bleeding nose. Because that’s a thing.

2 A Normal Shopping Trip

Anything that’s perceived as relatively normal seems to rub the Dethklok crew the wrong way. They certainly did not seem to enjoy their excursion to a department store. The whole band was on edge about the trip, none more so than Pickles.

He got increasingly drunk and just kept vomiting more and more as the trip wore on. Shopping came to an uncomfortable end when Murderface set the furniture department on fire, as one would expect.

1 Doctor Rockso Debuts “Rock & Roll Clown”

When dealing with a clown whose catchphrase is “I do cocaine,” one has to expect a lot of cocaine-related Adult Swim nonsense. Doctor Rockso never fails to deliver cocaine-related nonsense, as evidenced in the video for his song “Rock & Roll Clown.”

It features endless mountains of the white powdery drug, with Rockso skiing down it. Thanks to his generally terrible clothing choices, there’s also a copious number of butt cleavage shots of Rockso. The video is horrifying and intoxicating at the same time.
