Viewers agree that Tammy has needed medical intervention for the past couple of years she’s starred in 1000-lb Sisters. After Tammy failed to meet her weight loss goals in season 1, it became apparent to the reality star’s fans that she needs help from others if she’s ever to qualify for bariatric surgery. Unfortunately, matters only got worse for Tammy as her career as a reality star progressed. In season 2, Tammy’s enabling boyfriend, Jerry Sykes, and her COVID-19 contraction resulted in her falling even further from her weight loss goals. In the latest 1000-lb Sisters season, Tammy has once again demonstrated her need for medical help as she gained 15 pounds after prematurely checking herself out of rehab.

Regrettably, Tammy didn’t get medical attention until she faced a health crisis after filming 1000-lb Sisters season 3. In late November, Tammy took to TikTok to share that she ended up back in the hospital. The Slaton sister confirmed that she was on the road to recovery, but had suffered from carbon dioxide poisoning. Although her health was stable after going to the hospital, doctors had to give Tammy a trach to keep her lungs clear. Viewers think this bodes poorly for Tammy as the trach will hinder a surgeon’s ability to perform a bariatric operation. Fans also knew that Tammy needed to go to a rehab center now more than ever if she ever wanted to lose weight and turn her life around. Tammy’s latest handful of TikToks has proven to be good and bad news for the star’s supporters.

On one hand, Tammy’s getting the medical attention she needs, on the other hand, fans don’t think Tammy’s in the right frame of mind to get help. In a recent Reddit post, 1000-lb Sisters fans responded Tammy’s now-deleted TikTok in which she demanded her fans be “ride or die” and asserted that “Amy isn’t the blessing y’all think she is.” A disgruntled fan assess that Tammy’s “Still blaming everyone else.” Viewers agreed that Tammy isn’t acting like a mature adult and find it discouraging that she’s still blaming her shortcomings on her sister. A commenter replied, “Her family needs to let her live in the nursing home and live their lives.” Ultimately, fans were disappointed that Tammy’s being unrealistic about the current state of her health. One fan explained, “[Tammy] is on a completely different planet than the rest of us at this point.”

Tammy’s supporters have hoped that the 1000-lb Sisters star would check herself into a rehab, but now that Tammy’s sharing videos from a nursing home, fans’ fears haven’t been put to ease. From placing all of her troubles onto her siblings to not recognizing the gravity of her circumstance, Tammy’s posts have discouraged her anxious followers. Hopefully, Tammy will learn more from this rehab stay than she has during her years in 1000-lb Sisters.
