Throughout her weight loss journey in 1000-lb Sisters, Tammy has always had her siblings, Amy Slaton and Chris Combs, to rely on to take care of her. By season 3, however, Amy was busy raising her growing baby boy, Gage, and Chris had to focus on his own fitness ambitions. When Amy and Chris first told Tammy they were going to hire a home health nurse to help out, Tammy cursed her sister out in frustration. Not long after Amy and Tammy decided on hiring Tisa, however, the reality star enjoyed having the company her nurse offered. Tisa and Tammy’s budding friendship hit a bump in the road when Tisa tried to get Tammy to meet her exercise goals.

A trip to the pool ended on bad terms when Tisa made Tammy walk a few feet from her wheelchair to the car.
