19 Kids and Counting: Josh & Anna Duggar’s Relationship Timeline

Josh Duggar and Anna Duggar from 19 Kids and Counting are known for their turbulent relationship, and we’ve mapped out their rocky relationship timeline. Many TLC fans feel that Anna should leave her husband and stay as far away from his legal issues as possible. The eldest son of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar is no stranger to scandals and serious allegations. Now, things are getting worse for him. 

The father of six was arrested in Arkansas. He is now facing federal charges of receiving and possessing child porn. The reality star was charged with one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison and fines of up to $250,000. On April 30, he entered a not guilty plea in an Arkansas courtroom. According to the U.S. Attorneys’ office, Josh allegedly downloaded explicit material featuring children under the age of 12. The material was allegedly downloaded in May of 2019. 

Anna and her husband met at a homeschooling convention in 2006. At the time, both of them were teenagers. The two began courting after their parents agreed to the relationship. The courting process included chaperoned dates and hand-holding. The couple chose to save their first kiss for their wedding day. They said “I do” two years later, on September 26, 2008. The couple openly talked about having a big family but said that they would leave the number of children up to God and fate.

The couple welcomed their first child shortly after their one-year anniversary. They now have six children and Anna is currently expecting their seventh. In 2015, the couple was rocked by two scandals that happened within months of each other. The Duggar family sued the State of Arkansas over tabloid details relating to the allegations. During the first scandal, it was revealed that Josh had allegedly molested five girls when he was a teenager. The females he was accused of molesting were his sisters. Then, he was outed for having an account on the Ashley Madison site, which was meant to help men cheat on their wives. Anna thought about leaving, but Josh sought treatment at a faith-based rehabilitation center. 

Anna and Josh celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary in 2020, and many feel it may be their last in light of Josh’s arrest. Since the Ashley Madison scandal, the family has continued to grow. As the couple did continue to have children, some people felt that Josh was back on the right track. Fans of 19 Kids and Counting hope that Anna is ok and wonder if she was privy to any of his wrongdoing. She may have been in the dark about his alleged activities. Currently, most of Josh’s siblings have cut ties with him. Jill and Jinger released a statement following his arrest, and Jinger denounced her brother.
