Fans of Netflix’s The Witcher have had to wait almost two years for more from the streaming hit – in part because of delays due to Covid, on-set injuries, and other filming delays and changes in schedule. However, a release date of December was announced earlier this year, and this week, a season 2 teaser was released.

The teaser includes a recap of sorts of season 1, as well as a look at what Geralt, Ciri, Yennefer, and Jaskier are going to be facing this winter. As expected, Twitter has gone wild with reactions to the announcement of the teaser and the other Witcher-related content.

8 He Is The Plot

There’s little argument against the claim that Geralt is the best Witcher and Henry Cavill’s popularity makes this case even stronger. According to this fan, their entire reason to watch the next season is for the plot, and it’s clear what that’s supposed to mean based on the gif.

Cavill has been a fan favorite in just about every movie or TV show he’s a part of and The Witcher is no different. His ability to be a darker character who is commanding in presence is commendable, although the shot of him in a shallow body of water works, too.

7 Life’s Good

The timing of the teaser’s release couldn’t have come at a better time. As well as fans building up  their expectations for The Witcher’s second season, they have also been busy stacking up all of the other shows to watch in the near future.

The Witcher is the icing on the cake for this fan, who is also looking forward to a variety of others show that vary in genre. This has gotten them whooping for joy and few will argue that they don’t feel the same way.

6 For Real?

The teaser wasn’t just about the next season but a slew of content for the series to come. This fan can’t believe their eyes for what’s in store and is finding it difficult to take it all in at once.

After all, it was a lot of information to be delivered in one teaser. The second season continues the expansion of the Witcher universe which continued with the animated Nightmare of the Wolf after season one, and this is just the beginning, so fans should be prepared to see plenty of sequel and prequel hooks.

5 Geralt Approves

The release of the teaser has gotten fans excited for the video game series as well. There are more reasons to start playing The Witcher again, even if it’s mainly to hype up for the TV show. According to this tweet, the video game version of Geralt has given his approval.

Their reaction also includes the fact that the third season was confirmed during the second season’s teaser. It’s almost unheard of for a show to be announced so far out in advance, especially since it’s more than likely that the third season will take another couple of years to be released.

4 That’s Relatable

The Netflix hype machine is a real thing and it sucks just about everyone in it. The streaming service is masterful in the way it captures fan interest considering there are only a handful of episodes per show that are released in the span of years.

This fan has gotten on the hype train for The Witcher despite the fact that they never really understood what happened in the first season. The show had a similar sense of euphoria surrounding it the first time around and the teaser for the next season is giving off a similar vibe.

3 Same Reaction In Every Language

Netflix’s Tudum event had The Witcher as its main event and this fan certainly felt the effect. Although their reaction isn’t even written in English, it’s clear what they’re supposed to be saying. The gif more than does the trick in communicating this fan’s surprise.

The teaser didn’t have too many shocking moments but the reveal of the second season’s arrival in the near future was what many didn’t see coming. This tweet is appropriate for the way many felt and not even the language barrier will confuse anyone.

2 Quite A Surprise

The teaser for the show has left fans with many questions about The Witcher, namely the fact that there is going to be a family-friendly version coming soon. Many have voiced their opinions on this surprising fact and this fan has used a meme to do the same.

According to them, it sounds like a parody more than a serious show and they’ve used a spoof of Watchmen from The Simpsons to make a comparison. While it sounds laughable at the moment, time will tell if it turns out to be a good idea.

1 The Witcher Ticks Off Other Fandoms

Announcements of TV shows always get a rise out of fandoms that have nothing to do with them. The Witcher’s teaser has taken Twitter by storm and this fan has taken note of the fact that the event also included the announcement of a third season before the second has even aired.

The person is a fan of I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson, whose third season isn’t in sight yet. Someone should point out to this fan that The Witcher is only getting a new second after two whole years, so fans have definitely earned the right to be hyped about it.
