One of Netflix’s most popular new reality shows is The World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals, an 8-part series hosted by travel expert Jo Franco, interior designer Megan Batoon, and real-estate agent Luis D. Ortiz. The series follows the trio as they travel to various cities and explore three distinct tiers of vacation rentals, including unique, luxury, and budget-affordable residences for everyone to indulge in.

On their travels across the globe, the hosts visit everything from relaxing exotic resorts, bizarre treehouses, private islands, and fantastic upscale mansions to remote camper-homes, old and modern boathouses, frigid igloos, and everything in between.

9 Alpaca Treehouse

The adorability of the Atlanta Alpaca Treehouse is enough to make it the first destination on the itinerary. The reclamation project is made of restored materials and stands in the middle of an ancient bamboo forest.

The treehouse is also located in the middle of a working farm that is home to several rescue llamas and alpacas, which guests are allowed to interact with during their stay. The tiny 240-square-foot home has 2 beds, 1.5 baths, and costs $34o per night. With a wraparound terrace and outdoor lounging areas, the treehouse allows guests to tap into their inner child.

8 Old Cay House

Old Cay House off the coast of South Carolina offers a nice mixture of homespun southern charm and private resort exclusivity. The 1,800 square-foot house comes with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and starts at a price of $500 per night. It’s the perfect alternative for those who don’t want to spend an arm and a leg on a private island experience.

7 Quetzalcoatl’s Nest

However gimmicky, the fantastical Alice in Wonderland-like Mexican apartment complex called Quetzalcoatl’s Nest is one of the most memorable and imaginative places featured on the show. It instantly makes a guest feel like the star of their own childhood fairytale.

Nestled away in a 50-acre nature garden in the middle of Mexico City, the Nest resembles a coiling, multicolored snake with apartments (and two vacation rentals) constructed in its belly. The hosts stayed in a four-bed, five-bath rental at a cost of $325 per night.

6 The Arkup – Miami

The Arkup is an ultra-modern, self-sufficient houseboat that looks like an upscale hotel sitting on the waters of Miami, Florida. The 43,000 square-foot floating mansion has four bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and begins at a cost of $2,000 per night.

In addition to the location, futuristic architecture, bright open floor layout, and 360-degree ocean views, what sets this one apart is the ability to take it out on the ocean as a functional yacht. Moreover, the roof is aligned with solar panels to power the engines and keep the fuel prices low.

5 Camay Bali Butterfly

The Camay Bali Butterfly home is one of the most arresting architectural jewels on the show. The baroque bamboo residence sits atop a 16-acre mountain retreat that holds two beds and one bathroom at a cost of $375 per night. It’s the best place to visit for a moderate price.

The artistic design of the house is what really sets it apart. Modeled after a butterfly, the structure of the house is as unique as they come, with large windows to feature panoramic vistas, a revolving teardrop front door, a flower-laden jacuzzi overlooking rice terraces, and much more.

4 Noku Beach House – Bali

Upscale beachfront residences rarely come as luxurious as the Noku Beach House in Bali, Indonesia. What appears as a swanky Disneyland resort is really the only beachfront home in the region of Seminyak. The 13,000 square-foot modern mansion also functions as an upscale spa.

With six bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, outdoor pools, jacuzzis, lush plant life, and multiple lounging areas, a private chef, and a 20-person staff, Noku is also the most affordable luxury vacation rental on the show at a cost of $4,000 per night. Other than Hawaii and the Bahamas, it’s the best alternative.

3 Beckham Creek Cave Lodge

One of the coolest and most creative vacation rentals featured on the show includes Beckham Creek Cave Lodge, a subterranean dwelling that Bruce Wayne would be proud of. Tucked away into the side of a real stone cliff in the Ozarks, the 6,000 square-foot luxury rental is a true sight to behold.

The four-bed, four-bath cave has some of the most unique interiors, including authentic stalactites dangling from the ceiling, recessed lighting, and a cavernous open floor plan. With a mix of natural elements and industrial appliances, the architectural marvel can be rented for $1,500 per night.

2 Cuvee’s Royal Island

Aptly named Cuvee’s Royal Island, the private Bahamanian isle includes the most exclusive VIP service on the entire series. At a cost of $15,000 per night, the private luxury resort can only be rented by one party at a time.

Equipped with five beachfront bungalows, eight bedrooms, and nine bathrooms to accommodate up to 18 guests, the price entails all of the guest’s food, drinks, and on-site activities. Flanked by palm trees and stunning blue water, the 40-acre isle function as a personal private island to whoever rents it. If it weren’t for a slightly more affordable spot in Hawaii, this would be the cream of the crop.

1 Hale ‘Ae Kai

Saving the best for last, the hosts ended their travels in the most luxurious Hawaiian mansion imaginable. Located in one of the most exclusive parts of Kauai, the Hale ‘Ae Kai is a sprawling beachside resort-style residence featuring four separate villas, six bathrooms, access to a private secluded beach, pools, spas, jacuzzis, and much more.

In addition to the gorgeous surroundings, the 15-acre estate is divided into four pavilions that are connected by ornate wooden bridges. The magical vacation spot has a starting cost of $12,000 per night.
