On 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days episode 6, Usman Umar AKA “Sojaboy” filmed a music video for his song “Zara” in Zanzibar, and it’s time to share information about the woman in the song title. When Usman is in love, he turns into Taylor Swift and ends up writing songs about his significant other. He did it when he was dating his ex-wife Lisa “Babygirl” Hamme and dedicated his song “I Love You” to her on Valentine’s Day. It turns out that Zara is the name of Usman’s actual ex-girlfriend. As with Lisa, things didn’t work out between Usman and Zara. However, her song “Zara” may cause Usman’s relationship with “potential girlfriend” Kim Menzies on 90 Day Fiancé to change.

This song is about love,” is what Usman claims is the reason he came to Tanzania, as it’s known to have “a romantic setting.” Of course, he brought “boss-lady” Kim with him, to explore a possible relationship with her following his failed romance with Lisa. Additionally, Usman wants Kim to see him in action, and since she’s a “superfan,” that’s something she would certainly love. However, Usman has a hidden motive behind extending the invitation to Kim. At his music video set, Usman is usually surrounded by pretty young models and dancers who are around his own age. He wants to put Kim to the test and see if she can “handle the reality” of his career, and not get jealous like Lisa seemed to in the past.

However, it’s also why Usman’s ex-girlfriend Zara and his relationship came to an end. “You got me twisted. Girl your love don kill me pakala me see Zara my baby, yeah yeah,” Usman sings in his song, “Zara.” During his introduction on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Usman revealed that unlike his Babygirl and “Kimbaaaaaaly,” who are both in their 50’s, Zara is closer to him in age. “I don’t talk to Zara anymore,” he had told his friends and team members, Slam-T and Badmus. With a smile and a wink, Usman shared with 90 Day Fiancé producers that Zara was another person he “talked” to online. Zara is from America, and Usman wrote the song especially for her. According to ET, Zara was supposed to be a part of 90 Day Fiancé with Usman instead of Kimberly.

While he’s not romantically attracted to Kim, Usman confessed that he had “truly fallen in love” with Zara. However, Zara could not handle Usman’s female fans. She didn’t like Usman’s fans following and commenting on his posts. “So we stopped talking,” Usman admitted. “You know it wasn’t easy for me because I have feelings for her,” Usman claimed. However, Usman had no other option but to move on and he then decided to focus solely on Kimberly. In fact, Usman told the news outlet that Zara still has a contract with TLC. Because they broke things off owing to issues related to his female fans, Usman, who loves to be on TV, ironically chose his second option Kim to go on the show with.

This will be the last time I will sing for any lady honestly. Because anytime I sing, it will not work out,” Usman mused. Still, Usman not telling Kim what “Zara” is really about should be cause for concern for the San Diego native. Upon being asked, “Who’s Zara?” by Kim, Usman’s reply was that it’s “just a name” and that the song is for all the women across the world named Zara. Meanwhile, a confused Kim promised to hold it together instead of pushing Usman for answers on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. In all probability, Kim discovering that Usman still loves Zara might change her future plans with him. Unlike 90 Day Fiancé hiding Lisa’s name and photos from B90 season 5, Zara’s pictures are being shown in multiples on the screen, perhaps indicating that she might just come back into Usman’s life, and drive Kim out of it.
