Ash Naeck has decided to open up about fighting Graves’ Disease after being the victim of intense internet bullying. The holistic Australian decided it was time to set the record straight, as he realized that the bullies who were mocking his eyes were not aware of his disorder that could cause facial abnormalities. The couple’s relationship is currently being featured on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, where Avery visits Melbourne to see if their long-distance relationship could work. As the show has continued, Ash has raised some red flags with Avery, leaving fans to wonder if the relationship will pan out.

Since the  TLC’s personality’s very first episode, Ash has been getting slammed by the internet trolls about how his eyes give the impression to bulge out. Bullies everywhere have been relentless at insulting the way he looks, while the reality star has remained silent on the matter for the most part. He did take to his Instagram in March to explain that he had a genetic disorder. Ash decided to use his platform to educate his followers on his condition, by posting about his medical diagnosis that he has been living with since the age of 21.

During his personally sensitive post, the reality star revealed to his followers that he has been battling with Hyperactive Thyroid which is when a person’s glands produce too much of the hormone thyroxine. Oftentimes, the side effects of this disease can be weight loss or an irregular heartbeat, and upon further investigation, it can cause the subject’s eye to appear bulged out. While consulting with a naturopath and holistic health experts he was diagnosed with the disorder. Graves’ disease is an ailment that attacks a person’s immune system. The disease also causes eyes to become bulged as the eyelids retract and for the eyes to look red.

Since the decision to announce his disorder, Ash decided to take a break from social media also because he had a few episodes that did not show him in the best light but now, he is back and better than ever. As he continued to post positive sentiments for his followers, he hopes he can help other’s inflicted with the disease.
