Fans had high hopes for many 90 Day Fiancé cast members, but some of them squandered all of the goodwill that they received and left viewers feeling disappointed. These are the 90DF franchise stars who started out with the most promise, but through their appalling conduct, let viewers down.

When a new group of cast members get introduced to viewers, speculation abounds about who will be the stars that fans want to root for. The first few episodes of a new season often paint incoming cast members in positive lights. This means that it’s easy for viewers to gravitate towards some of the more dynamic stars.

However, over time, as fans learn more about the cast members, those same stars can become less and less likable. Sometimes, they don’t live up to the potential that viewers envisioned. At other times, cast members do and/or say things that actively enrage audience members. These celebs went from fan favorites to franchise pariahs, and will most likely never recover.

Darcey & Stacey Silva

Initially, the Silva sisters were very endearing, and Darcey and Stacey’s larger-than-life attitudes were entertaining. In fact, their personalities made for great TV. However, fans are now growing concerned. They suspect the Silvas have developed serious cases of body dysmorphia, and they’re shocked by the excessive plastic surgeries the sisters have gotten. Now, Darcey and Stacey look unrecognizable, and watching them deteriorate on their spin-off has been disappointing.

Syngin Colchester

In his first appearances on 90 Day Fiancé season 7, fans thought that Syngin was attractive and funny, and they sided with him more often than his then-fiancee, Tania Maduro. Though Syngin was an unambitious free spirit, viewers still found him endearing. However, recent abuse accusations against him have changed fans’ perception of him entirely. An ex of his claims Syngin was physically and emotionally abusive in horrible ways, and viewers are shocked to learn that the fun and appealing Syngin has been allegedly hiding a dark side.

Varya Malina

Viewers loved 90DF‘s Varya’s fun and spunky attitude when she was introduced on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, and they admired her independence. Fans applauded her decision to not accept her boyfriend Geoffrey Paschel’s proposal in Russia, but their opinion of Varya began to change when she followed Geoffrey to America and got engaged to him. He has since been rightfully ousted from the franchise and slammed on social media, following his conviction on assault charges. Varya has stuck by his side the entire time, and most fans won’t defend her anymore.

Alina Kozhevnikova

Alina was an early fan favorite on Before the 90 Days season 5, and her sassiness and resilience immediately stood out to viewers. At first, it seemed like Alina was a great addition to the franchise, but after some extremely problematic and racially insensitive posts from her past came to light, she was subsequently fired by TLC. Fans instantly turned on B90‘s Alina and are glad she has been removed from the franchise. Alina experienced a massive fall from grace, and it’s unlikely that she’ll ever bounce back.

Alina

On 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Alina’s Mormon fiance Steven Johnston was instantly disliked, but Alina got more sympathy from viewers. Initially, it seemed like Alina wouldn’t stand for Steven’s sketchy behavior and history with women, and viewers were thrilled when she called out his hypocrisy. However, it didn’t take much for her to fold and forgive Steven completely. Fans were disappointed when Alina got married to Steven at the end of the season, and they feel like she’s letting Steven walk all over her.

Ed Brown

At first, Big Ed struck fans as quirky, funny, and sympathetic. His sob story at the beginning of Before the 90 Days season 4 gained him fans, and 90DF‘s Ed became a meme-able franchise star. However, his treatment of girlfriend Rose Vega (and Liz Woods, later on) disgusted fans. They quickly turned away from once-popular Ed. There were even women from Ed’s past who have accused him of extremely inappropriate behavior. He went from being fans’ favorite new cast member to someone they actively boycott.

Stephanie Matto

When Stephanie was announced as part of the Before the 90 Days season 4 cast, viewers were excited about the franchise’s first LGBT relationship. There were high hopes for Stephanie and her girlfriend Erika Owens, and fans thought that the couple would be a win for representation. However, Stephanie became disliked by fans fairly quickly. Many people think that Stephanie was playing up her bisexuality and speculate that she’s really only interested in men. Now, viewers are tired of seeing Stephanie in the franchise. They want her and her fart jars to go away.

Julia Trubkina

On 90 Day Fiancé season 8, Julia initially seemed like a sweet foreigner who was being taken advantage of by her in-laws. Fans found her mother- and father-in-law Ron and Betty Gibbs to be irritating, and didn’t think it was fair to use Julia as a source of free labor for their farm. However, slowly, Julia’s entitlement and jealousy became more apparent, and it turned out that the only reason she was stuck on the farm was the fact that she wasn’t able to find an apartment that she approved of. Viewers have since gotten their fill of Julia, but there are rumors she’s set to return to the franchise.

Yolanda Leak

Fans saw Yolanda as a sweet older lady. They were hoping that Yolanda’s story would turn out to be a positive one, but fans were disappointed by what they saw. Yolanda easily fell victim to an extremely obvious catfish scam, and watching her get manipulated made viewers cringe. Seeing how gullible 90DF‘s Yolanda was was depressing to fans, who were soon eager for her journey in the franchise to conclude.

Though fans had a lot of expectations about these cast members, the 90 Day Fiancéstars found many ways to disappoint their audience. It’s hard to come back from being so intensely disliked, and many cast members probably miss the good old days when they were actually well-liked by fans.
