Avery Mills and Omar Albakour of 90 Day Fiance are officially living in the United States, and fans are now reacting. The former 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way couple announced the surprising move to their fans this week. The announcement came two weeks after the couple shared a YouTube video of Omar discovering that his United States visa had been approved. Since the couple had been previously thriving in Dubai, some fans were surprised by their sudden move. Instagram and Reddit users quickly weighed in with their thoughts on the couple’s changing living situation.

Though the couple has been married for over two years, they were forced to spend the first year of their marriage apart. American Avery converted to Islam before meeting her Syrian husband on a Muslim marriage app. After she flew to New Jersey to meet Omar’s siblings and receive their blessing, Avery visited Omar and quickly married the man of her dreams. Unfortunately, their wedded bliss was met with obstacles when Omar was unable to join Avery in the U.S. Instead, Avery decided to move to Dubai with her husband in order to be together. The couple has since shared that they love living in Dubai, and Avery has cited the Middle East as a wonderful place to live that is safer than the United States in her opinion.

Avery and Omar announced their move to America in an Instagram post on March 28 that showed off the custom art in their new apartment. The comments were quickly flooded with praises and well wishes. “Yay!!!! So happy Omar can experience the US! Welcome Omar!” one excited fan commented. “Mashallah beautiful Avery! I am super excited for you, your mom, and sister and entire family to have you back, along with Omar. Wishing you a beautiful journey settling in back home with Omar,” another commenter wrote. “Welcome to the USA Omar! We are delighted to have you here!” another user echoed. Many fans expressed delight and excitement over the couple’s announcement. Though the couple has said they are done with the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, that didn’t stop fans from commenting and asking if they’ll appear in franchise content again. Meanwhile, franchise fans on Reddit made a post discussing the couple’s YouTube video that announced Omar’s U.S. visa approval. While Reddit commenters are known to be harsher than Instagram fans, the couple received a warm reception.

I thought for sure Avery would be a dramatic brat and converting to Islam was a ‘phase’. I was convinced that she was going to get a culture shock and respond in the American way, brash and loud,” one of the top comments reads. “I am very glad that I have to eat my words. Avery has turned out to be one of the more genuine cast members of 90 Day in recent history. I hope TLC will continue to document their journey.”

Many other Reddit users echoed the praise. “I’m really happy for them. They deserve to be together in one country and start their life together. They waited long enough!” one person commented. “I find them adorable! So happy for them both!” another person wrote. “I really didn’t think she would be able to grow up enough to do it. Congrats to them,” a user commented. While the reception for Avery and Omar was positive, some commenters brought up the past behavior of Angela Deem to Avery. “Do we get to dump on Angela now for what she did to Avery and her Mom?” one commenter asked. Others referenced when Angela made Avery cry during a past tell-all that the franchise aired.

Avery and Omar appear to be one of the rare couples who have appeared in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise and ended up been universally beloved by fans. Avery has opened up about the discrimination she has faced after converting to Islam. However, many franchise viewers appear to praise the couple and site them as genuine, authentic and heart-warming. This reception has led to many viewers being delighted that Avery and Omar are settling down in the United States. Fans will have to stay tuned to see what content the couple shares on their shared Instagram and YouTube accounts. The couple is sure to reveal new information about their living situation in the United States in the upcoming weeks.
