90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days star Kimberly Menzies revealed an unknown secret about her life before becoming a reality TV star on TLC with her Nigerian singer boyfriend, Usman Umar, aka Sojaboy. 50-year-old Kim was first a fangirl and then a friend to Usman, 32, who was already a known name because of 90 Day Fiancé via social media. After a year of talking, Usman and Kim thought of getting into a romantic relationship and planned a trip to Tanzania, where they would see each other in person. Kim planned to end her two-week adventure with Usman as her husband-to-be, but he was reluctant to get close because of his similar past relationship with ex-wife Lisa Hamme.

But if Babygirl Lisa’s ever-looming presence is what first stopped Usman from making Kim his girlfriend, his other ex, Zara, is unknowingly hampering his new relationship. While Usman was chatting with Kim, he was also dating Zara, a younger American woman he broke up with four months before flying to Tanzania. Sokoto resident Usman hid this from Kim and also didn’t tell her he was in Tanzania to film a music video for a song based on Zara. Meanwhile, Kim did everything to woo Usman, including buying him expensive gadgets like a PlayStation 5 and a MacBook Pro. In a recent episode, Kim also revealed that she bought Usman a heavy golden chain as a birthday gift and spent $45 just on shipping so it could reach him in time.

Many fans wondered what job Kim did for a living if she was willing to spend so much on a man who wasn’t even sure about dating her. Kim, who recently celebrated her birthday, did a quick Q&A session with her Instagram followers during which she revealed what work was like for her before 90 Day Fiancé. “What do you do for work?” was the question Kim received. The San Diego native told her fan that she took time off from work for her mom, Sally, who passed away in January this year. However, Kim said she is a “restaurant manager.” She also added “90 Day Fiancé cast member” as her job with a grinning emoji.

During her first-ever 90 Day Fiancé episode, Kim explained her role as a primary caregiver for her mom, Sally. Kim stayed with Sally because the elderly lady has developed rheumatoid arthritis in her hips, which left her immobile. Meanwhile, Kim’s LinkedIn page notes Mimi’s Café as her place of employment. Kim appears to have worked as a service manager there since August 2012.

The cheerful Kim surprised TLC viewers by telling them about her adventures as a military woman. Fans will remember Kim talking about being 19 and traveling overseas when she went to Saudi Arabia as a secretary for the United States Army. Her relationship journey on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days with Sojaboy has also been a tough one, with Kim almost breaking up with Usman in episode 13. But Kim is a goal-oriented woman, who only has a future with Usman in America on her mind. Rumors say Kim and Usman are still together, so fans just might see her work as a busy restaurant manager in California in case the couple makes it to another spin-off.
