Peruvian beauty Mahogany Roca allegedly posted and deleted an Instagram post calling out 90 Day Fiancé co-star Mike Berk and fans for “making fun” of her. Mahogany currently appears on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days with boyfriend Ben Rathbun. Even before Mahogany’s reality TV debut, fans suspected hers would be another catfish storyline like David Murphey and Lana, or like Yolanda Leak and Williams. Mahogany’s photos that flashed on the screen whenever Ben, 52, spoke about her were highly filtered, making everyone think she was a scammer. When fans finally met Mahogany, she looked nothing like her pictures. During episode 11, Ben found out that Mahogany also lied to him about her age, and that she’s 22 years old, not 24.

Ben’s kids, who are almost Mahogany’s age, were quick to tell their father that her photo was the fakest they’d ever seen while trying to warn their dad against meeting her. In their three months of online dating, Mahogany had never spoken to Ben on video calls and ghosted him for 24 hours after he flew to Peru. But when Ben came to her hometown, she was left with no option but to meet him as she claimed her father was against her meeting the former pastor. While Mahogany’s appearance obviously didn’t match her social media photos, Ben mentioned that they were only slightly doctored, and she was beautiful regardless. Meanwhile, Mahogany was the one who claimed Ben was a catfish because he wasn’t as big and muscular when compared to his fitness modeling pictures.

The extreme difference in Mahogany’s Instagram versus real-life photos thanks to filters has led to fans making many memes about her. It’s possible that one of these memes was sent by Mike to Mahogany’s DM. Reddit user rocksannne took a screenshot of Mahogany’s now-deleted Instagram post, in which she allegedly wrote, “I want to congratulate Mike from 90 day fiancé for sending me a picture making fun of me.” Mahogany continued, “And besides that, thank all the comments of mockery,” and exclaimed, “My mental health is terrified!” Law student Mahogany tried to explain that she’d gotten a panic attack, which she doesn’t think will be her last. The San Bartolo resident addressed her critics and added, “Every photo of mine was me and I will be me, whether you like it or not, retouched or not.”

Mahogany spoke of 90 Day Fiancé viewers ridiculing her for her size and them wondering if her accent makes her a real Latina or not. “Yes, I am Peruvian,” Mahogany confirmed in the caption. The screenshot posted by the Reddit user also carried a blurred photo of Mahogany seated inside a room, which doesn’t like it’s from the apartment she showed to Ben on 90 Day Fiancé. After seeing the post, some fans observed that Mahogany’s English is pretty good. Ben once claimed that her poor English skills cause a language barrier between them. Some others were confused about which Mike from 90 Day Fiancé that Mahogany referred to in her post. But the general consensus was that it’s New Yorker Mike, who’s with Ximena Morales on Before the 90 Days. A meme by @monsterscriticsreality could have been what Mike sent to Mahogany, according to Reddit user LocalCap5093.

Mahogany looking so different from the almost doll-like person in her social media photos also has certain fans convinced that she is an actress. They’ve considered theories about Mahogany being a TLC intern who was roped in at the last minute to play “Mahogany” because Ben’s 90 Day Fiancé storyline would end if he was really catfished. But Mahogany defending herself from the same Instagram page which contains her photoshopped pictures does confirm she’s the real deal. Still, why did Mahogany delete the post, making fans question her authenticity all over again?
