90 Day Fiancéseason 3 cast member Mark Shoemaker who is getting divorced from his wife Nikki of six years has revealed the real reason why he’s ending their marriage. Dubbed the creepiest couple on 90 Day Fiancé, Mark and Nikki, with their 39 year age difference have perhaps the biggest age gap in the franchise. Nikki from Cebu City in the Philippines was younger than Mark’s four kids at 19 and was treated poorly by the Maryland man who refused to give her a baby. After their season ended, both Mark and Nikki were nowhere to be seen, and fans kept praying for an update that finally surfaced earlier this week.

Fans often landed upon Nikki’s dormant Instagram account to ask her if she was doing okay. They felt it was weird for such a young woman to stay away from social media, especially with her experiencing life in a new country. However, there was pin-drop silence when it came to news about the mismatched 90 Day Fiancé couple apart from a few fans claiming they’ve spotted Mark and Nikki together in public. However, a real update showed up on a Reddit page in which a court document revealed Mark filed for divorce at the Baltimore County Circuit Court on March 12. The records also note that there is a prenuptial agreement involved.

Mark had made Nikki sign a prenup on 90 Day Fiancé season 3, six years ago when they married. However, one more surprise was thrown towards fans when the actual reason behind Mark wanting to get divorced from Nikki was revealed. According to InTouch Mark claims that his estranged wife Nikki cheated on him in the divorce filing. There is a section of the paperwork which asks the plaintiff to select the “grounds for divorce.” In the section, Mark has checked off the box that says, “Adultery — my spouse committed adultery.”

In a different section, Mark has checked off, “For these reasons, I request an absolute divorce.” The source seems to have reached out to Mark and Nikki on a phone number that was provided in the filing. Mark, now a 64-year-old owner of a piano rental business answered the phone. However, he refused to comment.  It also appears that Mark has claimed the divorce with Nikki will involve “mutual consent” as he and Nikki have signed a written settlement agreement. The agreement resolves any issues between Mark and Nikki “related to alimony, the distribution of property and the care, custody, access and support of minor or dependent child(ren).”

Nikki and Mark did not have any children in their six years of marriage. When fans first met Mark on 90 Day Fiancé, all they could see were red flags from the way he found Nikki in the same city as his ex-wife, and how he scolded her as if she were a child when she left her handprints on his car window. There were many more instances in the couple’s storyline that still make TLC viewers cringe whenever they revisit Mark and Nikki’s relationship. Elise, Mark’s youngest daughter, who’s two years older than Nikki did keep fans updated about how the Filipina was doing by dropping several hints on TikTok. But now that Nikki is free, fans hope to see her making a comeback to social media to finally reveal her side of the story.
