90 Day Fiancé: Stephanie Matto Talks Regrets But Fans Don’t Feel Bad

Stephanie Matto has been called out by 90 Day Fiancé fans in the past, and she is once again drawing criticism after opening up about her biggest show regret. Though she continues to appear in franchise commentary, the former 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days star has been accused of falsifying her sexuality to grow her social media presence. Therefore, viewers were skeptical about Stephanie’s recent discussion regarding her biggest show regrets.

American Stephanie appeared on Before The 90 Days with Australian Erika Owens. The same-sex relationship marked a milestone for the franchise, but unfortunately, Stephanie’s behavior toward Erika was not consistent with affection or attraction. Stephanie, who identified as bisexual, showed zero interest in being physical with Erika when she arrived in Australia. Stephanie treated her girlfriend poorly to Erika’s bafflement. Her strange behavior has caused viewers to accuse Stephanie of faking an attraction to women to grow her YouTube channel, which she had already been working on when she appeared on the show. As a result, many viewers dislike the American.

Stephanie recently took to her Instagram Story to discuss her regrets about appearing in the franchise. Instagram fan account @90dayfiancefanatics2 reposted her response so that franchise fans could comment. When it comes to one show regret Stephanie wrote, “I guess I should have gone more out of my way to warn my partner about the potential backlash and negativity. I don’t think either of us were prepared for the hate, and I should have done a better job protecting her. And in hindsight, we probably should have done it- period.” While Stephanie’s answer sounded nice, many commenters don’t think her response was authentic given the way she treated Erika.

“She should regret using someone whom was actually genuine, to gain five seconds of fame,” one of the post’s top comments reads. Many viewers have sympathized with Erika, who appeared to have genuine feelings for Stephanie when they dated. Others noted how Stephanie profited off of her exploitation of Erika. “Erica should not have done it. Stephanie made incredible amounts of money from OF, she bought a house and a new porsche cayane,” one person observed. Despite disliking Stephanie, many people have noted her success over the years. However, Erika has the support of audiences. “I think most viewers hated her for using Erica for clout. I didn’t see many Erica haters,” another viewer wrote.

Though Stephanie said she probably shouldn’t have appeared in the franchise, she continues to contribute to new content. The American appears on Pillow Talk, where she weighs in on the season 6 plot lines on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?  Many viewers are displeased with the current repetitive cast of the show and aren’t big fans of Stephanie’s commentary either. Meanwhile, Stephanie remains single but Erika has moved on to date her boyfriend Chris Siclari. When Stephanie isn’t appearing in 90 Day Fiancé content, she also focuses on promoting her OnlyFans.
