90 Day Fiancé: The Real Reason Kim Wants Usman To Have Second Wife

90 Day Fiancé star Kim Menzies has finally come clean about why she’s okay with Usman Umar a.k.a. Sojaboy getting married to a second wife. 50-year-old Kim flew to Tanzania to meet Usman, 32, for the first time on 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days and make him her boyfriend but all he wanted to do is stay friends. After many disagreements and warnings from Kim, Usman finally gave in and did the deed with her, thus making their relationship official. While Kim finally felt like she’d “won” Usman shocked her by revealing about his ex-girlfriend Zara. A jealous Kim again threatened Usman that she’d break up with him, which is when TLC fans wondered how she was fine with him marrying another woman as per his religion.

Usman was married to single mom Lisa Hamme on 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days season 4, but they did split up shortly after. During his relationship with Lisa, Usman desperately wanted a baby so he could pass his name which is important in the Nigerian culture. Usman was worried about Lisa not being able to give him kids due to her being over fifty but did reveal that his culture allows polygamy. Usman was okay with Lisa being one of his four future wives. “There [are no] rules about it, and nobody can stop it,” Usman had declared back then. Shockingly, the hot-tempered Lisa was fine with the arrangement as long as Usman would provide for her house. Lisa also made it clear that Usman’s other wife would only be referred to as a “second person in his life” and not “legally a wife” in the US. Alas, Usman insisted that there would be no difference between Lisa and his second wife as he is “going to get married to her” in the same way he married his Babygirl.

With Lisa now in his past, Usman will have to discuss polygamy with Kim who’s reportedly engaged to him. Fortunately for Usman, Kim was supportive of him having multiple wives even before meeting him face-to-face and being promoted from fangirl to girlfriend. “I would allow him to marry a second wife and have kids,” Kim had told the 90 Day Fiancé cameras in her introduction. “If Usman has multiple wives I feel like it’s ok. I love him. It’s his culture and I respect his culture and his religion so much,” Kim had added. It seems Kim’s opinion hasn’t changed since because in her recent ET interview, Kim confessed she’s “down for Usman to have a second wife” but only as long as he tells her about it. “I’m not going to be here and sitting there going to a fertility clinic and all that. I’m done. I wash my hands,” Kim explained to confirm she doesn’t want to have a baby with Usman.

On the other hand, Kim does have a condition that Usman has to follow if he wants a second wife. “Don’t keep me in the dark. You can’t just pull up and be like, ‘Hey, by the way,’” Kim clarified. She simply wants Usman to “be real” with her. Besides, Kim feels fans have a misconception about her. She wasn’t upset with Usman being in a relationship with Zara. Kim was upset because Usman didn’t tell her he was in a relationship while he kept flirting with her “all the time.” Kim had no idea about how Usman even managed to pull it off since she was with him on the phone “all the time.” Kim is not sure about how much time Usman spent on Zara. “I don’t know how much time I got. Do you see what I’m saying? That’s why I was upset,” she said.

It’s realistic for Kim to not want to make or raise a baby at her age and in any which way, she’s already raised her son Jamal who’s almost as old as Usman. Kim respects Usman’s culture and religion enough to not let the idea of polygamy bother her. If Usman has lied to Kim in her past, however, there’s no telling if he wants to start dating someone new during their long-distance 90 Day Fiancé relationship. Usman was seen getting married in his recent Instagram posts, and even though it was for a music video, fans felt bad for Kim. Shortly after Usman’s wedding videos went viral, Kim revealed she had started to question herself and him. Fans also suspect that Usman might use Kim to get to the US just so he can get back together with Zara who he still has feelings for and dump the San Diego native.
