Though she once flew under the radar, Tiffany Franco Smith has become a 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? villain and earned viewer wrath for the way she treats her fan-favorite father Carlos. The husband of Ronald Smith and mother to children Daniel and Carley has annoyed viewers by refusing to let her husband’s criminal past go. Even though Tiffany references Ronald’s gambling addiction and arrest record at every opportunity, the American is now pushing for her father to sponsor Ronald so he can join her in the United States.

Tiffany’s repetitive behavior has left many fans bored during season 6 of Happily Ever After. The mother has been bad-mouthing her husband to the cameras, but telling him that she wants him to join her in the United States. When South African Ronald found out that his visa process was moving forward, Tiffany realized that she didn’t have the finances to sponsor her husband. This led to Tiffany turning to her sweet father Carlos to get him to sponsor Ronald. Though her mother Maggie suggested Tiffany lie to her ex-husband, she chose to come clean and confess Ronald’s past. However, Tiffany only did so after Carlos first agreed to sponsor her husband.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

One viewer took to Reddit to call out Tiffany for her bad behavior. “Tiffany is an A1 a****** for guilt tripping her dad into co-signing for Ronald. Especially when she’s already thinking about divorce,” the user posted. “She’s not just thinking of divorce. Shoulders was ready to divorce him once their application got denied. That’s a really serious thing to tell or say about a spouse,” one commenter wrote. They added that it appeared like Tiffany wanted her father to say no because she sought his pity while speaking with him. “She definitely wanted he dad to say no so she could break up with Ronald ‘guilt free.’ When her dad said he’d sponsor him her gratitude act was cringey,” another commenter agreed. Many viewers were upset by the blatant manipulation of Carlos.

Other viewers were confused as to why Tiffany couldn’t sponsor her husband since she knew about the application process. “What is the base salary a person needs to make for a K1? I googled it and it seemed around $20k.. how is she supporting two kids making so little?” a commenter asked. Others believed that Ronald didn’t care about his visa sponsorship at all since he wants Tiffany and the children to join him in South Africa. However, viewers had little pity for Tiffany and her divorce drama. “Not here for Tiffany and her stale ass storyline. You know the Dad knew about the charges. There’s no way he didn’t watch her last season, especially since he was in one of the episodes. They frauding us,” a viewer observed. “I’m hoping Ronald doesn’t pass the interview so it won’t become her dad’s problem,” another fan wrote.

Tiffany isn’t the only 90 Day Fiancé cast member to see herself become a villain. Many fans have expressed frustration over the Happily Ever After cast, with the Potthast family receiving particularly loud criticism for their repetitive drama. Meanwhile, other couples such as Julia Trubkina and Brandon Gibbs have been accused of staging scenes and scripting plot lines. This has led to fans petitioning for TLC to stop featuring staged drama and plastic surgery plot lines and instead bring new couples into the mix to explore the K-1 visa process on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?.
