Geoffrey and Varya were featured in a messy love triangle on 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days, as Geoffrey was reluctant to choose between his Russian girlfriend Varya Malina and his American ex-girlfriend Mary Wallace. Geoffrey and Varya have kept their relationship status quiet since appearing in the TLC franchise, though fans now believe Varya and Geoffrey secretly married. Geoffrey was found guilty of domestic violence last month, but Varya refuses to believe in his guilt. Varya and her close friend Natalie Mordovtseva have controversially voiced their support of Geoffrey, while Varya has been collaborating with Geoffrey’s family to raise money for him in a confusing attempt to free him from prison.

Some franchise fans even researched the property Varya recorded herself staying at and revealed it is in Geoffrey’s mother’s name. Fans slammed Varya for trying to project an upper-class, fancy lifestyle on social media when her reality is that she is staying in the home of her criminal partner. Others called Varya out for being a grifter, as she has been asking fans for money for Geoffrey on social media.

Varya’s move to Tennessee also raises the question of how Varya, a Russian native, is living in the United States. “Wtf is this chicks status in this country? No way anything she is doing is legal,” one commenter asked while others voiced she was likely married to Geoffrey. “Someone asked her if they got married and she responded why does it matter. His family is like family to her and she wants to be there for them. 🙄,” another commenter chimed in. Many franchise fans are enraged that Varya refuses to accept Geoffrey’s verdict or believe his victim. “Behind every POS man is a woman supporting him,” one angry commenter wrote. “She has no self respect after seeing all the evidence of his abuse. Girl seems to believe she will change him and not be another one in the statistics,” another commenter wrote.
