90 Day Fiancé: What Jonathan & Fernanda’s Lives Are Like After Divorce

90 Day Fiancé’s Jonathan Rivera and Fernanda Flores found love real quick and got divorced even quicker. While their season 6 storyline had very little ups and downs, Jonathan and Fernanda’s big age gap was a huge bother for many TLC fans. At 32, Jonathan was 11 years older than his teenage bride who had left her family and culture behind in Mexico to follow her heart. The 90 Day Fiancé fan-favorites soon fell apart, but what have Jonathan and Fernanda been up to since she became “officially single” in Chicago?

Controversially, Jonathan had met Fernanda when she was apparently just 19 and he was 32. The  Lumberton, North Carolina, resident was on a vacation in Fernanda’s home country Mexico when he’d bumped into her at a nightclub. The TLC twosome danced and then talked for the rest of the evening, as Jonathan impressed the teen with his Spanish skills. Three months later, the two were engaged, and Fernanda became Jonathan’s 90 Day Fiancé when she moved to America on a K-1 visa in February 2018. By May, the 90 Day Fiancé couple was hitched pronto in a Chicago courthouse ceremony. While their marriage made it to the reality show, by the time of the Tell-All, Jonathan had split with his “child bride” and had also spent New Year’s Eve apart. Jonathan, who’d paid for his ex’s education, her Jeep, and her breast implants, claimed that Fernanda was not in America for a green card. But Fernanda, who’d found women’s’ underwear and sex toys in Jonathan’s dresser claimed that he was mentally, verbally and physically abusive to her during their marriage, while also cheating on her. By March this year, the 90 Day Fiancé pair were officially divorced. And yes, a lot has been going on in Jonathan and Fernanda’s lives since then.

A year ago, Jonathan had bragged about canceling the I-184 affidavit of support he had filed for his 90 Day Fiancé wife’s residency application in America. 90 Day Fiancé clapped back at Jonathan who thought that he was canceling her green card, but he confirmed it was only an application that made him financially responsible for Fernanda for 10 years. But one look at Fernanda’s Instagram does show that she’s loving and living it up in the land of the free. Fernanda always wanted to settle down in Chicago where her father who’s an American citizen’s parents, and sister stay and has finally shifted base there with roommate Vanessa. Right after her divorce, Fernanda who was “ready” for romance, started dating a man called Sam Cushing in April with whom she shared a ramen-tic Lady and the Tramp moment on Instagram. Sam must’ve not ticked the right boxes as she soon met The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise star Clay Harbor on social media. The former NFL player and Fernanda did go out on a date but reconnected months later in May while quarantining on Zoom.

By June, Clay came clean about not dating the 90 Day Fiancé star anymore, and in July Fernanda hinted at her dating a mystery man by sharing a picture of him with a sticker covering his face. The same month, fans also spotted Fernanda working as a waitress at a swanky restaurant in Chicago called Shore Club. Soap Dirt claimed that it was probably since she wasn’t earning enough as a model. Late last month, the 90 Day Fiancé star made it to the headlines again for posting a series of sultry photos while defending immigrants in the United States.

Chicago Real Estate Professional Jonathan, on the other hand, had moved on with a sports marketing agent Janelle Miller in June 2019, right after signing the divorce paperwork. By June this year, Jonathan had officially announced his engagement to Janelle with an Instagram post captioned, “Easiest decision I’ve ever made.” The photo had the 90 Day Fiancé star holding Janelle’s hand as she showed off her engagement ring, reports Us. Jonathan took a break from social media since then but was spotted earlier this month at a Michigan winery, reported Soap Dirt. TLC fans commented on Jonathan packing on a few pounds, especially after having been a fitness buff in the past.

Rumors of the 90 Day Fiancé celeb being married to his new fiancée have been doing the rounds, but fans also suggest that Jonathan might have pushed the wedding due to the pandemic. Meanwhile, Fernanda celebrated a major milestone in her content creator career by crossing 400k followers on Instagram. With Fernanda being an Instagram influencer, and Jonathan ditching his social media, it can be assumed that this 90 Day Fiancé couple, indeed have gone their separate ways, in every possible way.
