90 Day Fiancé: Yara Criticized for Making Fight with Jovi Physical

Yara Zaya from 90 Day Fiancé slapping Jovi Dufren after their latest argument has angered many TLC viewers. The Ukrainian star got off on the wrong foot when she made her debut on season 8, but Yara’s witty remarks on TV and friendly nature on social media made her win over fans. On the other hand, Yara has been getting mixed reactions during 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 6 from fans who mocked her for disrespecting Gwen to those who relate to her as a young mother. Still, Yara’s reaction to Jovi taking her to a Miami club in episode 14 was least expected by many who watched the controversial scene.

Yara no longer being the fun, party-loving girl that Jovi once met in a travel app has been Jovi’s number one complaint on HEA. As per Jovi, motherhood has changed Yara, who spends too much time and attention on baby Mylah, thus ignoring him in the process. However, Yara did defend herself saying that she was always a “grandma” inside, and becoming a parent has certainly made her different. Still, Jovi has made quite evident through his 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? confessionals that he is on a different page from Yara. Consequently, taking Yara for a quick trip to Miami only messed things up even further.

As Jovi somehow convinced Yara to go to a strip club with him, his 90 Day Fiancé wife did agree. However, upon seeing his antics around the performers, she quickly got uncomfortable. Yara kept asking Jovi if she could leave as she continued to blow kisses and money at the nude performer. “You’re f***ing stupid Jovi, I asked you to go home. You f***ing stupid,” Yara said angrily as she got up and stormed out. This shocking reaction of the usually calm Yara getting abusive with Jovi struck fans as severe. While Jovi’s antics were deemed disgusting and gross, fans also called out Yara because violence is never the answer. “Yara slapping Jovi is worse. Laying hands on your partner, man or woman, should never be acceptable,” fan @carrieleelily wrote in a tweet (as seen below).

90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 6 has already created outrage amongst fans due to Angela Deem acting abusively with Nigerian husband Michael. Several fans have signed petitions to get Angela off TLC due to her continuously berating Michael by hurling abuses at him and accusing him of being a scammer. While Angela has already earned herself the “toxic” label, there have been other 90 Day Fiancé stars such as Anfisa Arkhipchenko Nava and Nicole Nafziger who also have a bad rep for being aggressive towards their partners.

Alternatively, fans have also praised Yara for finally standing up to Jovi and his problematic frat-boy behavior. Several TLC viewers have sided with Yara after the scandalous scene, and have been mocking Jovi on his Instagram for him being disrespectful to his wife. Meanwhile, Jovi’s mother Gwen realizing that her son may have not been ready for marriage yet and siding with Yara has been applauded. With that said, Yara, who usually responds to fan backlash on her social media, has not commented on this yet. But she did call Jovi the “best daddy” on Instagram, which 90 Day Fiancé fans think is her way of doing damage control.
