Warning! Spoilers for Silk #1 by Marvel Comics below

Marvel’s Silk is back in action in a brand new series that sees the welcome return of the web-slinger to the Marvel Universe. Cindy Moon is one of the best spider-heroes in comics, with the hero’s most recent ongoing series wrapping up last year. Now, Silk is back in Silk #1 by Marvel Comics – and with a three-month time skip, apparently.

Silk was introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man #4 and was co-created by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos. Cindy Moon was bitten by the same radioactive spider as Peter Parker, but instead of embracing her powers right away, she stayed in a bunker for more than a decade, in an effort to hide from the villain Morlun. Moon would eventually take the mantle of Silk and star in numerous Spider-Man-related adventures, as well as being a member of the Agents of Atlas. The Korean-American hero’s last series focused on Moon’s career as a journalist with Threats and Menaces and her investigations into Fujinet. Cindy Moon was rumored to make a small appearance in the MCU Spider-Man films and is set to have a series based around her from Sony television.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The spider-powered hero returns to action in a brand new preview for Silk #1 (H/T CBR) by Emily Kim, Takeshi Miyazawa, Ian Herring, and VC’s Ariana Maher. The new-look opens with a group of bank robbers in New York running from a web attack. Silk calls the robbers losers as a group of devoted fans look on. Unfortunately, one teen filming the action ignores the danger around him and is grabbed by the criminals that Silk pursues.

It’s great to see Marvel Comics telling new Silk stories, as the web-slinger is an incredible hero who’s been wildly underused over the past few years. Hopefully, Silk #1 is the start of a resurgence for the character and she gets a higher profile in the comics and beyond. Silk #1 by Marvel Comics arrives in comic book stores on Wednesday.
