Thor: 10 MCU Characters Sorted Into Hogwarts Houses
While it’s not difficult to imagine the Asgardians of the Marvel world in a magical setting, imagining the gods of Asgard as young, fresh-faced students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is adorable. From Odin carrying Frigga’s books (or teasing her relentlessly, a la James Potter) to Loki using the Marauder’s Map to cause havoc, it’s almost begging to be made into a Disney special.
We might be quick to assume just because someone is a noble Asgardian warrior bound for battle, they will automatically fall into the Gryffindor House, but that’s not always going to be the case.
10 Loki: Slytherin
Loki is all about self-preservation, his own ambition and his pride, which are all the trademark qualities of a Slytherin, but he has even gone as far as being a snake. He also tends to dress the part in some pretty snazzy green and gold outfits. Add a little silver and boom, he’s ready for a Quidditch match.
9 Heimdall: Hufflepuff

Heimdall is a trustworthy ally, one of the few whom Thor can trust to assist his people when he’s not in Asgard, and despite how caring he is, he’s also quite honest, giving people true answers when asked.
8 Odin: Slytherin
Odin doesn’t just rush into battle; he knows he has to have a plan in order to make it worth the cost. He also locks up Hela, whom he was happy to use for his own vengeful ways until he decided that he couldn’t control her anymore. Pair that with the fact that he stole his son from a Frost Giant and you definitely have a Slytherin.
7 Frigga: Ravenclaw
If only Frigga could avoid the fat-shaming. Ravenclaws can sometimes have sharp tongues. Perhaps she should suggest counseling or laying off the booze instead of eating salad to her son.
6 Jane Foster: Ravenclaw
Jane has a level head, which is why she ultimately had to let Thor go. She’s constantly busy in her work, although we’re bound to see her become even busier in the upcoming film, Thor: Love & Thunder, in which she’ll portray the Mighty Thor of the comics.
5 Volstagg: Gryffindor
Given that the same fate would be in store for the other Warriors Three, Fandral and Hogun, we will include them all together here as Gryffindors that are always ready for battle. In the comic history, Vostagg in particular wasn’t always as skilled as he is today, but so were many famous Gryffindors, like Neville Longbottom.
4 Sif: Hufflepuff
But Sif is incredibly loyal, to the point where she even admits that, as a warrior of Odin, she “bows to his will.” She told Coulson, “Much like your S.H.I.E.L.D., we are bound by our code.” This is the thinking of a Hufflepuff. Naturally, she wasn’t loyal to Loki when she recognized him as a usurper.
3 Hela: Slytherin
Riding on Fenris while brandishing her Necroswords and conquering the universe is what makes Hela happy, which is why when Odin said she had to stop at the Nine Realms she grew a bit… testy. Despite the danger she presents to the universe, Hela’s rage is understandable since Odin used her for his bidding until he no longer needed her.
2 Valkyrie: Gryffindor
Fans are beyond excited about the prospect, as well as the idea of Valkyrie finding her queen, as Tessa Thompson stated at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year. That remark glowed with so much Gryffindor nerve and swagger and fans can’t wait to see where it leads.
1 Thor: Gryffindor
As Thor joins up with the Guardians of the Galaxy, those Gryffindor traits will surely come in handy as he sets off into space.
