Spoilers for Spider-Man 2099: Exodus #3 by Marvel Comics
Marvel is bringing back the 2099 universe and a new set of Avengers with it. In a brand new Marvel Comics preview and cover art for the upcoming Spider-Man 2099: Exodus miniseries, the Avengers 2099 swing into action, as the team is led by a new version of Moon Knight and features several new heroes to the future universe.
The “2099” universe takes place in Marvel’s far future, which launched with a series of titles in the 90s, including Spider-Man 2099, Doom 2099, Punisher 2099, and Ravage 2099. The most prominent hero of the imprint was Miguel O’Hara, the Spider-Man of 2099, who gained his superpowers after he tried to rewrite his DNA and was sabotaged by a fellow geneticist for Alchemax. Spider-Man 2099 will make his full film debut in the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Part 1, after making a small cameo in the post-credit scene of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Moon Knight actor Oscar Isaac will voice Miguel.
While the original 2099 Marvel Comics characters first debuted 30 years ago and have popped up in other miniseries since, a handful are returning in Spider-Man 2099: Exodus. The comic, written by Steve Orlando, will start with Spider-Man: 2099: Exodus – Alpha #1 and continue with a rotating group of artists, including Paul Fry, Dave Watcher, Alessandro Mircola, Kim Jacinto, and Ze Carlos. The story will see a Celestial fall to Earth, a new Winter Soldier 2099 rise, and Spider-Man’s quest for a better tomorrow for the people of Nueva York continue. In the fourth issue, Moon Knight will assemble a new group of Avengers. Check out the Ryan Stegman cover, which features Spider-Man, Captain America, Hulk, Moon Knight, Black Panther, Spectrum, and potentially Polaris (who hasn’t been officially revealed) on the 2099 team.

Check out Ken Lashley’s variant for Spider-Man 2099: Exodus #4, which features a closer look at the heroes of the Avengers 2099. Moon Knight stands out among the future costumes as he has a Red Hood-esque helmet with a crescent Moon on the front.
