The final A Quiet Place Part II trailer is officially released. The highly anticipated horror sequel was originally supposed to come out in March 2020 and was in the midst of a major marketing campaign before the coronavirus pandemic started. As a result, Paramount was forced to delay the film, eventually settling on a May 2021 release date. A Quiet Place 2 will open over Memorial Day weekend, looking to be a big hit for theaters as the film industry looks to rebound from 2020.

Despite premiering in just a few week’s time, there hasn’t been much A Quiet Place 2 advertising of late. The last time Paramount unveiled new footage from the sequel was way back in January 2020, ahead of last year’s Super Bowl. With A Quiet Place 2 projected to be a massive box office draw, the studio will have to spend the rest of the month ramping up their promotional efforts to raise awareness and generate hype. At long last, there’s a new trailer.

Paramount released the final Quiet Place 2 trailer, setting the stage for what’s to come. Check it out in the space below:

In terms of footage and plot details, this new A Quiet Place 2 trailer doesn’t reveal much more than what was already known, showcasing John Krasinski’s return as Lee Abbott in a flashback sequence, new cast members Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou, and terrifying encounters with the monsters. Instead, the big takeaway from the preview is it incorporates quotes from early reviews that praise the film. Right before the pandemic began last March, A Quiet Place 2 social media reactions made waves online, stating it was a terrific followup to one of 2018’s surprise hits. Using that word-of-mouth as a marketing tool is a smart move on the studio’s part, as it’ll likely encourage moviegoers A Quiet Place 2 is worth seeing on the big screen.

The other notable part about the trailer is it highlights A Quiet Place 2’s theatrical exclusivity. Whereas Warner Bros. is releasing all their 2021 movies on HBO Max the same day as theaters, Paramount’s strategy is to go for shorter windows prior to streaming. A Quiet Place 2 will be on Paramount+, but only 45 days after its theatrical opening. That means viewers have to make a choice between going to see it in theaters (as long as they feel safe, of course) or waiting even longer to watch the movie and risk being spoiled. A Quiet Place 2 was obviously made to be seen on the biggest screen possible, so it would be nice if it’s able to do solid business at the box office.
