Ubisoft has finally addressed some of the biggest concerns in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, with a new patch that fixes the Into the Fog and Avenge quest glitches. Though one fix will require a little work from the player, both quests should be running smoothly, without players having to kill themselves for the Hall of the Slain quest, or die horrible deaths to the Puca in the Into the Fog quest. For the Hall of the Slain achievement quest, Ubisoft has addressed the pattern in which players are purposely killing their characters to help others collect the achievement, having made it easier to find Avenge opportunities around the AC Valhalla world.

It’s no surprise that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla would have plenty of bugs marring the game world, due in large part to its immense size. The Avenge quest glitch was a prime example of issues within Ubisoft’s new online system, Ubisoft Connect, including one troublesome feature. This feature made it possible for players to connect, albeit on a limited scale, to others around the game world. Slain Vikings could be avenged by fellow players, by killing the enemy responsible. The Hall of the Slain achievement required 10 players avenged, however, a bug made it so slain players almost never appeared in other players’ worlds, which meant fellow players would purposely die in order to help their friends finish the achievement.

According to patch notes from Ubisoft, both the Hall of the Slain Ubisoft Connect challenge and the Into the Fog quest glitch have been fixed, including an instance where players couldn’t harm the Puca during the latter quest. Ubisoft made it possible to fix the Into the Fog quest with a simple trick. As for the Hall of the Slain quest, Ubisoft tweaked things on the backend so players could find more Avenge Quest opportunities around the game world.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players who wish to kill the Puca, but can’t, will need to create a manual save, close the game application, and then relaunch it. From there, players must load the save they created before, and they should be able to damage the Puca during the Into the Fog quest. For the Avenge quest glitch, Ubisoft addressed the issue by giving players more opportunities to avenge their fallen Vikings, by tweaking settings. However, Ubisoft admitted that it will need to continue to work on improving the visibility of the fallen players’ and will update Assassin’s Creed Valhalla with a better fix shortly.

The Assassin’s Creed development team has been hard at work addressing issues and fixing bugs. The game, which sparked renewed interest in the franchise and brought an expansive open world for players to explore, was no doubt going to have its flaws. With the recent Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Wrath of the Druids DLC out and new patches constantly arriving in the game, the dev team is likely swamped. However, the latest patch addressed frustrating issues that, now fixed, will surely inspire players.
