A new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla glitch allows players to acquire an absurdly powerful Isu weapon known as the Nodens’ Arc bow, and the method is as simple as smashing a very specific pile of rocks a few times. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the latest entry into the franchise and occupies a unique spot in the series thanks to its new blend of action-RPG and stealth elements. Prior to Valhalla, the series had been leaning heavily towards RPG inspirations, but the newest entry scales those back slightly in favor of returning to the stealth gameplay that had been growing more absent.

RPG features still litter the open world of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, however, including in its loot systems. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla features a slew of powerful weapons and armor for players to acquire across a variety of methods, with some being looted from enemies and others being the prize after a series of convoluted puzzles and mystery solving. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has depth in its RPG systems, and fans have continued to unearth small touches in the game months after its launch date.

Now, a player named JorRaptor (reported by Kotaku) has documented a bizarre method found by players that ends in obtaining yet another secret Assassin’s Creed Valhalla weapon: Nodens’ Arc, a powerful Isu bow. To obtain the bow, players simply need to head to the northern area of the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla map and strike a common pile of rocks. Players will know it’s the right pile because it doesn’t break, unlike other instances of piles in the game. Next, players need to reload an undetermined amount of times – though rarely more than three or four – and they’ll eventually unlock Nodens’ Arc when they load into the game with the rock already broken and a notification they acquired the bow waiting for them.

The video is pretty detailed, but the method in using the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla bow glitch is very simple, and appears to have a 100% success rate. After JorRaptor shared the video on Twitter, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla narrative director Darby McDevitt replied to confirm what seems pretty obvious: This isn’t the way players are intended to acquire the bow.

While McDevitt does suggest the method seems primed to help speedrunners – the Nodens’ Arc is extremely powerful – it’s also something that could still get patched out if Ubisoft doesn’t want players to easily acquire what is currently still a secret bow for those playing the game normally. It will also be interesting to see if the discovery helps AC Valhalla players trying to acquire the bow through normal means piece together what’s required – or if the Nodens’ Arc Assassin’s Creed Valhalla rock glitch remains the only way Eivor can acquire the powerful weapon for the foreseeable future.
