An Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has created a spectacular Godzilla movie set complete with green screen, Mothra, and more. The latest game in the Animal Crossing series has become a hub for creativity, with a long list of items and customizations. Players are always getting creative, with many other popular movie sets appearing in ACNH as well. Even a game that is approaching its second anniversary still manages to inspire the creativity of the gaming world.

The recent release of Animal Crossing: New Horizon’s first major paid DLC, Happy Home Paradise, introduced the possibility for a lot of creative options in-game. The premise of Happy Home Paradise is for fans to design homes for other villagers, essentially giving multiple blank canvases to creative players. Some ACNH villagers have strange design requests, but thankfully the requests tend to be fairly open-ended, allowing individuals to come up with their own ideas.

Reddit user Cheynerd shared their magnificent Godzilla movie set creation with the Animal Crossing community, to joyous praise. The “green screen” is a customized construction scaffolding, showing the plethora of options one can find with the right customization. Cheynerd was happy to explain more in the comments, saying that they set off a toy helicopter from Animal Crossing’s Toy Day before taking the photo to make it look like a real flying helicopter. The giant moth model also excellently resembles one of Godzilla’s most iconic monster companions, Mothra.

The villager even poses as the movie’s director, standing in the forefront with a camera and a clapperboard at the ready. Unfortunately for players, with the release of Happy Home Paradise, Nintendo announced that the DLC would be the last new content developed for the title. The lack of new content is a major missed opportunity for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, a game that is still very popular and could easily continue to generate revenue for Nintendo into the future. But on the bright side, it could also mean that Nintendo is focusing on the next Animal Crossing title, which will hopefully bring some fresh ideas and improvements to the series.

Thankfully, Animal Crossing players are great at figuring out how to work with the tools they are given. A popular theme or aesthetic in New Horizons is called a “core,” which designates various items into categories that all visually work well together, and there are a lot of popular and impressive cores in ACNH. While this is just one scene, not an entire island, it would be amazing to see an entire island themed after the giant lizard movie star. In the meantime, there’s no doubt that creative players will continue to create amazing scenes on their Animal Crossing: New Horizons islands for years to come.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons and the extra paid DLC Happy Home Paradise are both available on the Nintendo Switch.
