A cute and unique craft project has added an Animal Crossing: New Horizons theme to a player’s Nintendo Switch dock, including cut-outs of favorite NPCs. Customizing the Nintendo Switch and its docks can be a great way to add personal style to consoles, with hard cases, vinyl coverings, and rubber covers all available to purchase or make. However, some fans have taken these customizations to a new level, creating craft masterpieces that make their hardware one-of-a-kind.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a great option for Switch decorating. The game series has remained popular since its initial launch and includes cute characters, bright colors, and notable prints, like the iconic leaf logo. Skins with simple designs like Star Fragments offer a subtle and interesting way to decorate a Switch, while others might choose colors or skins based on a specific character like Isabelle or Celeste. There is even a special Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch bundle that comes themed after the game right from the box, eliminating the need to decorate after buying or acting as a great base for further unique additions.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

In a post on Reddit shared by Mr_Pioupiou, the New Horizons player shows an incredible craft project centered around the dock of the Nintendo Switch. The storefront of Nook’s Cranny has been constructed around the dock using craft wood, and includes details like spotlights for the shop’s sign, the bucket, mop, and scrub brush against the side of the building, and even windows displayed behind little panes of glass. The shop has also been painted, with the colors bright and inviting, similar to the shop’s in-game visuals.

Additionally, Mr_Pioupiou has taken the time to create pop-up figures of popular NPCs from the Animal Crossing series. Tom Nook, Tommy, Timmy, Celeste, and several others have gathered outside the storefront, appearing to gaze excitedly at the building. The pop-ups are made of the same wood as the Nook’s Cranny build, and according to a description for one of the images, they are meant for another project the crafter is currently working on. While it isn’t stated whether they are hand-drawn or printed, the bright and accurate depictions of each add to the immersion of the project.

While moving a Nintendo Switch Dock with this type of elaborate decoration might be difficult once finished, the unique embellishments are likely to bring a decorative flair to any space the dock is set up in. A similar setup for New Horizons’ Museum or a player’s home could also make for great projects, and with the right Nintendo Switch Joy-Con covers, players could make it look like the sky behind the building. Projects like these are a great way for Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans to come together and share their creativity.
