Matt Brown, the black sheep of the Alaskan Bush People family, has opened up with his followers on how he has managed to stay sober even through dark times. The 39-year-old has been living on his own – away from the Wolf Pack – since their falling out. Matt has taken it upon himself to help out people facing addiction issues.

Matt has been sharing updates pretty regularly when it comes to his time off of the Discovery Channel show. Matt and the rest of the Brown family became known for their unconventional life while they embraced the wilderness. Ami and Billy Brown chose to keep their family largely away from modern technology and the politics of the lower 48 states. Unlike some of his family members, Matt has been off the radar and kept to himself after being accused of sexual assault.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Over the weekend, Matt took to his Instagram profile to share a few tips with his followers regarding staying sober during these difficult times. The video showed Matt filming himself atop a mountain close to his home after a long day of hiking. He spoke freely to his fans, telling them that early recovery over an addiction is not always easy during the beginning stages. Many of his followers often tune in to Matt’s updates for a bit of inspiration. Matt is a proponent of rehab facilities as he attended the Betty Ford Center himself. Matt is very upfront about which tools of recovery worked best for him and often encourages his fans who are struggling to find a positive outlet.

As most followers of Alaskan Bush People know, Matt has been on the outs with his entire family. Luckily, Matt was able to reconcile with his father before he passed away in February 2021. After Matt was kicked off of the family show, his family essentially disowned him. Since Billy’s death, Matt has continued to work on himself while hoping for reconciliation.

Ever since production wrapped up its most recent season of Alaskan Bush People, many fans have been wondering if Matt will ever be making another appearance on the family show. The eldest of the Wolf Pack doesn’t seem to want to come back to the show, which is good since the network will not be inviting him anytime soon. Matt is concentrating on keeping himself physically and mentally healthy so he doesn’t fall back into his old habits.
