All Biomutant Preorder Bonuses & Editions Explained

After a long silence that left many fans wondering if the game had been cancelled, Biomutant finally has an official release date. The long-awaited action-adventure game from THQ Nordic and developer Experiment 101 is arriving in May, and multiple editions are already available to order. Pre-ordering the game can also come with a pretty cool bonus. Here’s everything to know about all of Biomutant‘s preorder bonuses and editions.

Originally planned for 2018, Biomutant should be arriving on May 25th, 2021. The game is available in several physical editions, as well as digital versions – which are available for preorder now. The preorder bonus will be available for all digital editions; however, the physical Standard Edition of the game won’t come with a preorder bonus – only the Collector’s and Atomic Editions.

The preorder bonus for Biomutant is a Mercenary class. This class will have a unique set of perks, as well as as the starting ability to dual-wield weapons. For those who purchase the Standard Edition of the game, the Merc class will be available to purchase separately as DLC once Biomutant releases. Additionally, the PS4 digital preorders will come with a Biomutant theme exclusive to that system.

Biomutant’s Collector & Atomic Editions Explained

For those looking for premium physical copies of the game, Biomutant will come in both Collector and Atomic Editions that each offer some additional goodies. The Collector’s Edition of Biomutant will include the game, a hero figurine, the Artwork on Fabric A1 size, a soundtrack, and a premium box. This is available to preorder now and is priced at $109.99.

The Atomic Edition of Biomutant includes everything in the Collector’s Edition,  but it also includes a high-detail diorama (pictured above), a steelbook, a L/XL shirt, and an oversized mousepad. This version of the game is priced at $399.99. These edition are available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. However, a Biomutant upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X has been hinted at by developers, although nothing specific has been announced at the time of this writing.

It’s odd and slightly disappointing that the Standard Edition of the physical game won’t come with the Merc class as a preorder bonus, especially considering all digital versions will. While diehard fans who’ve been looking forward to the game may want to spend the extra money on the Atomic Edition, the Collector’s Edition seems like the best value in terms of getting additional merch at a good price.
