The Genshin Impact 2.5 livestream official revealed which characters will get Banner reruns – and what new characters fans can expect to become playable in the newest update. As usual, the latest Genshin Impact Special Program livestream gave viewers plenty to look forward to (along with a concert), but characters are still the biggest draw to the popular RPG. Here’s every character officially confirmed for Genshin Impact 2.5.

Leaks ahead of the livestream pointed at Kokomi and Raiden getting Banner reruns about midway through the Genshin Impact 2.5 update, which will release on February 16 (depending on a user’s time zone and country). In recent months, Genshin Impact has started doing double Banner reruns, so it looks like this tradition will continue. Kokomi was a bit underwhelming when she debuted, but Raiden is still one of the best characters in the game.

Kokomi, a Hydro Catalyst user, is a 5-star Banner character who is best for a utility role. Raiden is a 5-star character who can also fit well into a utility role, but she’s an Electro Polearm user. Because of this, it’s unlikely players will want to pull for both of them – unless they’re missing a certain element on their team or just like both character designs. Considering how much of a stir Kokomi caused with the Genshin Impact community last time, it’s likely most players will try for Raiden instead. Ultimately, though, this will simply come down to a player’s preference.

New Characters In The Genshin Impact 2.5 Update

Ahead of the Genshin Impact 2.5 livestream, miHoYo had already shared details regarding Yae Miko on its social media accounts. Leaks from the 2.5 beta test revealed Yae Miko’s Talents and Constellations as well, so many fans weren’t too surprised to see her showing up during the Special Program. Still, Yae Miko has gotten a lot of attention – and many fans are eager to recruit her for their teams. Thankfully, she’ll be an early part of the Genshin Impact 2.5 update.

While a single new character may be disappointing for some fans, this isn’t the first time Genshin Impact has only introduced one playable character in an update. And if miHoYo is indeed preparing to bring the new Sumeru region and Dendro element into the game soon, then it’s likely smaller updates will occur until then. Still, the Genshin Impact 2.5 Special Program livestream gave fans plenty to be excited about, and the wait is nearly over – since the newest update will arrive on February 16, 2022.
