Thanks to its own showcase at BlizzCon 2021 over the weekend, Overwatch 2 and developers have teased a good amount of new features and content coming to the long-awaited sequel. During the event, developers at Blizzard showed off new hero designs and maps, but numerous new PvE enemies were shown, too. Here’s everything fans should know.

Overwatch 2 will have its own PvE story campaign, which means players will be going around the globe and taking on hordes of Omnic enemies. Grunts appear to function like Nulltroopers and will seemingly be the basic enemies found in the game; however, there will be an Elite version of this enemy as well. Breachers are dangerous foes with bombs on their backs. They’ll run at players or objectives and need to be taken out quickly before they explode and cause massive damage.

Orbiters look like flying drones that zip across the sky, although very little else is known about them at this point. Slicers, the chicken-legged bots from Overwatch‘s Uprising event, will also be reappearing in Overwatch 2. Pullers are a new and interesting PvE enemy that look like witches and throw orbs out at players to draw them in. If a player gets too close, they’ll be instantly killed.

Overwatch 2’s PvE Enemies & Behemoth Boss Explained

While a lot of focus may have been on Overwatch 2‘s updated hero designs, the PvE enemies that were shown off at BlizzCon look pretty great. Rounding out the more common PvE foes players will encounter are the Artillery and Jumper enemies. Jumpers were called Skirmishes back in 2019 when Overwatch 2 was first revealed, but they’ve been renamed even though they still look mostly the same. Jumpers can leap great distances and fire off cannons while in the air. Artillery, meanwhile, are massive enemies with dual-wielding cannons, which players will have to shoot off if they want to survive.

The first new PvE boss was also teased during the event. This boss is called the Behemoth, and it serves as the final fight in one of Overwatch 2‘s new maps – Rio De Janeiro. Resembling a giant robotic rhino, Behemoth charges at players and has ranged weaponry as well. Overall, Behemoth looks like a pretty interesting Omnic PvE enemy.

Of course, there are lots of unconfirmed PvE enemies at this point as well, including possible new or returning Talon enemies. Fans will have to wait a bit longer to see which other enemies get confirmed prior to Overwatch 2‘s release date. For now, though, these were all the new PvE enemies shown off for Overwatch 2 during BlizzCon this year.
