For Aloy to get the special ancient armor set in Horizon Zero Dawn, she must recover all five of the power cells that are scattered across the map. The ancient armor, Shield-Weaver, is the reward of the Ancient Armory quest. This will require the player to find all five of the power cells and return them to the lab before unlocking the armor.

To start this quest, the player will first need to find this Ancient Armory. If the player has already begun or completed the hunt for the metal flowers, the player will likely have found it as it is in the same location as the Metal Flower Mark 1. After this, Aloy must simply walk into the area with the Shield-Weaver locked behind the door to start the quest.

Where to Find the Five Power Cells in Horizon Zero Dawn

The five power cells needed as the key to unlocking the armory can be found alongside certain quests for the fastest and easiest way to snatch them up. The first and easiest one of the five to find is the one in the bunker Aloy finds as a child. The power cell will not be there when she is a child, but once she is an adult and able to fully explore the vast plains of the map she can return for this one.

Prologue Power Cell: In this bunker, there will be a doorway that is blocked by stalactites and stalagmites that Aloy couldn’t pass as a child. Now, as an adult, however, she can knock the growths down with her melee attacks. Once through the doorway, the power cell will be obvious to spot.

All-Mother Mountain Power Cell: Directly after the Proving is over, Aloy wakes up in the All-Mother Mountain. This power cell can be found during the Womb of the Mountain quest. Instead of following Teersa go straight for the locked door, Aloy can pass by it by squeezing through a small opening to the left. The cell should be just inside.

Grave Hoard Power Cell: In the northeastern end of the map there is a bunker called the Grave Hoard. This power cell cannot be found until the Grave Hoard questline has started. To get to this power cell, Aloy will need to solve a three-part puzzle before climbing up the ledge to where it is.

Maker’s End Power Cell: This cell can only be found after Aloy completes the Maker’s End questline. After this, Aloy should climb to the very top of the Maker’s End ruined skyscraper until she is given the option to repel. The power cell will be on the right side of this edge.

GAIA Prime Power Cell: This power cell is available for Aloy to find after she completes The Mountain That Fell quest. During this, or after, Aloy should make sure to not take the zipline in GAIA Prime and instead walk to the right and close enough to the edge that she is given the option to drop down. Once down on the first bar, Aloy can climb her way off to the left. Drop down to the ledge near the mushrooms and have Aloy head to the purple-lit room. The cell will be on a shelf on the righthand sidewall.
