Warning! Spoilers for Alligator Loki on Marvel Unlimted

Alligator Loki is stepping into the spotlight, as the Loki variant is starring in his own spinoff series, Alligator Loki, on Marvel Unlimited. On Thursday, Marvel Comics revealed the reptile version of Loki will star in his own Infinity Comic, with Thor co-headlining his very first issue. The 12-part series’ first issue features Alligator Loki and Thor having fun and getting to know each other at an Asgardian amusement park.

There have been many variants of Loki in the pages of Marvel Comics, but a new version of the trickster god made his surprise debut in the Loki streaming series on Disney+. In the series, Loki encounters a variant of himself, an alligator, who wears his horned helmet. Alligator Loki was sent to the Void by the Time Variance Authority and ended up grouping up alongside Classic Loki, Kid Loki, and Boastful Loki. The reptile Loki ended up staying back with Kid Loki; as Earth-616 Loki and Sylvie approached He Who Remains in search of answers about the TVA’s true purpose.

On Thursday, Marvel Comics shared their latest Infinity Comic offering, as Alligator Loki will star in a new series on Marvel Unlimited. Alligator Loki by Alyssa Wong, Robert Quinn, Pete Pantazis, and Katelyn Gregorowicz, will feature the variant of Loki getting in trouble alongside alongside the real Thor. The first issue features the alligator version Loki having fun at an amusement park on Asgard, with previews featuring Thor holding Alligator Loki like a baby. The comic is set to be an adorable adventure with the sharp-toothed Loki.

The sypnopsis for the issue reveals Thor is about to experience Loki in an all-new, but somewhat familiar way.

For his entire life Thor has only known one brother, Loki. Known to all as conniving, sneaky, and cunning! But a new Loki is ready to take his place. He may be smaller, he may be cuter, and… an alligator?! But don’t be deceived, Alligator Loki has all the same attributes as his human counterpart and is ready to get into some trouble!

Marvel’s Infinity Comics has allowed the publisher to feature animal characters who otherwise would play small role in main comic book series. Jeff the Land Shark and the cats of the Marvel Universe have all gotten their own Infinity Comics. Adding Alligator Loki to the mix gives another popular Marvel creature a much-deserved spotlight. It’s fun to see Alligator Loki make the transition from the MCU to the comics, as it’s somewhat rare for a character to debut in the live-action world before the comics.

The first issue of Alligator Lokico-starring Thor by Alyssa Wong, Robert Quinn, Pete Pantazis, and Katelyn Gregorowicz, is available on Marvel Unlimited now. New chapters of the series will be released every Friday on the app.
