The Amazing Spider-Man 3 gets a fan poster featuring Andrew Garfield alongside Felicity Jones as Black Cat. Following the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, there’s been an ongoing campaign from fans to see the film made since any plans for a sequel to 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 were shelved following the casting of Tom Holland as the newest Peter Parker. Garfield has since expressed interest in reprising his role once more after taking on the character again in No Way Home.

The Amazing Spider-Man films follow Peter Parker and his evolution into the superhero Spider-Man after a lab accident leaves him with spider-based superpowers. The film was the second big-screen imagining of the character after Tobey Maguire played the role in Sam Raimi’s trilogy from 2002-2007. Garfield’s Spider-Man sequel underwhelmed critics and audiences alike and he never got the chance to finish his own trilogy. Holland himself has since also expressed his support for a new film led by Garfield, with the multiverse established in No Way Home allowing the films to not interfere with the others’ continuity. However, no plans for the film have been announced by Sony, Marvel, or Disney.

But fan art is providing a glimpse at what an Amazing Spider-Man 3  could look like in the way of a mock poster. The design comes from artist @agtdesign on Instagram and shows Garfield and Felicity Jones as Black Cat in a poster for the theoretical film. Jones played a small role in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, later confirmed to be Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat, a longtime antihero from the comics. The poster features heavy blues and blacks, looking to be more in the darker spirit of late 200os superhero films rather than their more colorful contemporaries. See the design below:

With fan support for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 rising, there’s speculation on what the new film might entail, and whether actors from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 could appear, such as Rhys Ifans and Jaime Foxx – who appeared in No Way Home as the Lizard and Electro, respectively. There’s also the question of whether or not the writers will bring back Shailene Woodley, who shot scenes as Mary Jane for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, following the death of Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy. Though, with Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse coming out soon, it’s also likely the creators don’t want to overuse the property.

With superhero movies continuing to dominate global box offices, it’s easy for studios to over-promise on making more. However, with the oversaturation of the market, and Marvel continuity becoming more inscrutable by the day, it might be wise to sometimes leave audiences wanting more. However, with the fan campaigning and the reception to No Way Home, it’d be out of character for the massive cooperations to turn down making another giant bucket of cash. It’s only a pipe dream right now, but The Amazing Spider-Man 3 doesn’t seem outside the realm of possibility.
