American Idol: Casey Bishop’s Best Performances On Season 19

Despite her elimination from American Idol, Casey Bishop was one of the frontrunners to win season 19 for a long time on the show. During her moving and powerful American Idol audition, Casey introduced herself as a 15-year-old high school student from Estero, Florida. Judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan were immediately dazzled by Casey’s talent, personality, and backstory, sending her straight to Hollywood Week and rooting for her as the competition went on.

Throughout the duration of American Idol season 19, Casey Bishop gave the fans phenomenal performances to songs such as The Black Crowes’ “She Talks To Angels”, Paramore’s “Decode”, Incubus’ “Wish You Were Here”, The Animals’ “The House Of The Rising Sun”, Coldplay’s “Paradise”, Alanis Morissette’s “Ironic”, Randy Newman’s “When She Loved Me” (Toy Story 2), and Billie Eilish’s “wish you were gay”. Week after week, she dazzled not only the judges but also the viewers, bringing a modern take to various classic anthems.

3. “Over The Rainbow” By Judy Garland

One of Casey Bishop’s very best performances took place in the top 12 of American Idol, when she sang Judy Garland’s “Over The Rainbow” from the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. As she often does, Casey brought an unexpected edge to “Over The Rainbow” that many viewers were very enticed by. It might’ve not been such a straightforward choice to pair up Casey with “Over The Rainbow”, but that combination turned out to be wonderfully beautiful.

2. “Black Hole Sun” By Soundgarden

When the American Idol competition narrowed down to the top 16, Casey Bishop rocked out to Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun”, and it proved to be yet another fierce performance from her. The public voted heavily to keep Casey on the show, placing her in the top 10 that allowed her to move forward in the competition. In fact, at that point, Casey had the potential to win the whole season.

1. “Lime Wire” By Motley Crue

Casey Bishop belted out “Lime Wire” by Motley Crue during her American Idol audition, and then showed a different side of herself with a performance of “My Funny Valentine” by Sarah Vaughan. The judges were not only impressed by her talent as a vocalist, but also by her story as a young woman and her references as an artist. Luke Bryan smiled ear-to-ear during the entire audition, and Katy Perry was simply hypnotized by Casey’s voice. Lionel Richie gave her various compliments as well, making sure that she secured her ticket to go to Hollywood.
