Of all the competitors on American Ninja Warrior, “The Weatherman” Joe Moravsky is one of the frontrunners that viewers believe could be the next to defeat Mount Midoriyama. He has consistently been a strong competitor even since his rookie year in 2013. While he has never yet hit the buzzer on Mount Midoriyama during his eight years on the show, he has had some even greater milestones in his life.

Moravsky is hoping season 13 will be his lucky season. He was already fortunate to be one of the returning veterans. Producers made the choice to lower the age limit from 19 years old to 15 years old this season. To make room for more younger competitors, many long-time ninjas had their applications rejected. Many fans were angered that producers showed no loyalty to the ninjas who helped make the show such a success.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Joe Moravsky was born March 23, 1989, making him 31 years old. Growing up, he was involved in many different sports, including baseball, gymnastics, soccer, and racing. In college, he followed his other interest, studying meteorology at Western Connecticut State University. He worked as a weatherman before he began competing on American Ninja Warrior. During his rookie attempt on ANW, he placed 6th in qualifying, 2nd in city finals, and made it all the way to stage 3 of the Las Vegas finals, which was unheard of for a rookie at that time. He has made it to stage 3 of the Vegas finals almost every season since. With such great success on the course, he gave up being a full-time weatherman to be a manager at Stamford Ninja Academy.

Viewers have seen the ninja course change from year to year, and perhaps no other ninja has had so many life changes as Moravsky. When he started on ANW, Moravsky was cheered on by his fiancée Stephanie. The next year, he ran the qualifying course just five days before his wedding to Stephanie. The following year, Stephanie was pregnant with the couple’s first child. The next year, he was cheered on by Stephanie and his baby daughter. He said beating the course in front of his daughter was the greatest feeling. In 2017, his wife cheered him on virtually as she was pregnant with their second child. Now Moravsky has three children. Viewers love seeing him build his family year by year, while also being one of the fastest runners on the course.

Joe Moravsky has earned his big fan base through his talent and his good attitude. With only 20% of competitors expected to finish each qualifying course, the fact that Joe Moravsky has never failed to finish a qualifier speaks to just how talented he really is. Fans can follow him on Instagram and Twitter @joemoravsky, or at his website JoeMoravsky.com.
