There’s a Game Boy Color to match every Among Us crewmate, apparently. One clever Reddit user perfectly recreated the crewmate lineup that appears at the start of each Among Us match using only the 1998 handheld consoles. The colors of the Game Boy devices were near exact matches to the colors of the Among Us characters.

InnerSloth’s hit social deception game puts up to 10 players on a spaceship, where they complete various tasks to keep the craft in top shape. The catch is that at least one player in every match is an impostor, whose true task is to sabotage the ship and kill as many Among Us crewmates as possible without being seen. All of the normal crewmates must keep their eyes open for any suspicious activity and report it as soon as possible. Each round, one suspected impostor is voted out (or the round is skipped), but each wrong guess is another chance for the real impostor to win the game. Players get to choose from a variety of colorful little bean-shaped crewmates and customize their characters with accessories before entering one of the the Among Us maps.

Reddit user AX901 could only think of one thing when they saw the Among Us crewmate colors: Game Boy Color. So, they used an image of the game’s starting screen and replaced the crewmates in a V formation with Game Boy Color devices. From left to right, they used clear purple, solid purple, teal, neon green, red, and yellow. Fellow Among Us players on Reddit loved the reimagining and joked about which Game Boy Color would be the impostor.

Those six Game Boy Colors were definitely creative, but they only covered half of the Among Us crewmate color choices. Back in the Game Boy Color’s heyday, there were more than 20 basic and limited edition colors to choose from, so it would be awesome to see other Among Us crewmates represented. Despite the fact that not every color of crewmember is represented, it’s still a little sus that the crewmates match Game Boy Color consoles so well.

Among Us fans who loved seeing the characters reimagined as Game Boy Colors can even play the game on their Game Boy Colors. Another creative gamer created thee Among Us Game Boy fan game, which blends the social deception game with old-school Super Mario Bros. platformers. The game, named Super Impostor Bros., is available to download or play online for free.
