Developer Innersloth announced that official plushies for their hit game Among Us are now for sale. The new plushies were announced alongside the heavily anticipated Airship map Among Us update that went live recently. In the new update, players can explore an entirely new map with new tasks to take on. Accompanying the update is the implementation of a new account and chat system. The system restricts the use of the chat feature to those with Among Us accounts, while those without an account can only use Quick Chat. The new system’s functionality is to protect the game from hackers and restrict the use of the chat feature by underaged players.

Among Us’s popularity grew to astronomical heights in 2020, two years after its initial release date. With that popularity came the need for merchandise, of which official mugs and beanies have sold. Many fans have tried to emulate the plushes based on the crewmates in the game, but none are officially licensed Among Us products – until now.

The plushies, designed by Etsy artist Frisk Wolfie, are sold on the official Innersloth online store and come in 12 different colors. Each plush is $20 and comes in a 6 x 4-inch size. Innersloth is limiting the sale of plushies to 12 units and one order per household to prevent resellers. The store has a “Back In Stock” notification registration list for those that don’t secure a plush, which is highly plausible since they were sold out immediately before restocking. At the time of this writing, all 12 colors of the plush are still available for purchase but could change very quickly.

With the sale of the official plush, Among Us is sure to become even more of a money-printing machine than it already is. In 2020 alone, the game made over $39 million in sales thanks to in-game cosmetics and ports to new platforms. It is important to note that none of the plushies are Impostors, which means the signature Impostor accents that differentiate them from the other crewmates are not there.

Where there is a crewmate plush, expect an Impostor plush to be the next piece of merchandise that Innersloth has set to sell. A crewmate with a little fleece knife could be the most sought-after item for the upcoming holiday season. Even a figurine of a crewmate would sellout at this point. Regardless, this seems like only the start of what could be another big year for Among Us.
