The much-beloved whodunnit game, Among Us, is getting a manga adaptation. Although it has been around for many years now, Among Us exploded in 2020 amidst the pandemic. Many sought out virtual social experiences, and due to the game being free on mobile and rather cheap on PC, it was an easy sell for a lot of people. With its success, Among Us became a cultural phenomenon, spawning merchandise, memes, and now, a manga.

Following the recent console ports of Among Us, Bessatsu CoroCoro has announced (via Manga Mongura RE and The Gamer) that it will be adapting the indie darling for its next magazine issue, which releases on February 4, 2022. There are no details about what the story will be like, but this will be the first real effort at cementing any kind of narrative in Among Us. The Among Us lore has been kept quite mysterious over the years, likely because there isn’t much to it beyond a fun social game. Nonetheless, there are likely some fun stories to tell with these short little crewmates and the sinister Impostors lurking in their midst.

Developer InnerSloth looks to be expanding the world of its beloved indie title pretty soon in a pretty significant way as well. The developer revealed Among Us VR during The Game Awards, but didn’t share many details. The new version of the game will allow for a much more immersive version of the tense murder-mystery, but it’s unclear if it will include any new features that aren’t basic expectations for VR. Either way, it doesn’t look like Among Us is leaving the zeitgeist any time soon.
